Commercial Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

(Bottled@Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Almost pitch black with beige, lacy head. Very malty, smooth, licoricey and mildly fruity aroma. Dark-bready, extremely malty and quite bitter flavor with hints of roasted coffee and licorice. Very full-bodied, bitter and slicky palate with almost no carbonation. A nice and roasty, licoricey imperial stout. Slightly harsh bitterness for perfection.

This is Stupid!!! This is not your ordinary stout! Black with fine brown head. Aroma & taste of Smoke/caramel/liquirice/coffee & chocolate + vanilla. Texture is smooth-filling to thick. Finish is fantastic long lasting. A lot of bitter bite from a great amount of hops. Truly amazing! Rerating April 09: 0,3 down. Still lovely. Had this up with bourbon county og barrel gonzo. Still amazing but not nearly as complex, and the oak chips felt less original.

Bottle, tasted in parallel with the regular version, both provided by the generous and hospitable Mads Berg, tak Mads!
Completely black, brown head. More subtle wooden aroma, wooden cognacy flavors as well. Hops come over less citrussy. More diacetyl. Slightly smoother, probably due to longer lagering times.

Poured an opaque black color with a small tan head. Sticky, spotty lacing on the glass. Fruity, cherries and strawberry creme, light roast, hops and vanilla aroma. Taste was roasty, light chocolate but very creamy, toasted oak, some alcohol and was nicely hopped. A very interesting creation, certainly meets, and quite possibly exceeds its little brother. Thanks for the bottle Mike!

Black color with no head. Taste and aroma are both a solidly bitter oak with a good malt base. No coffee, chocolate, or vanilla flavors. Hmmm... I’ve got quite a few more bottles to try; hopefully I just had a slightly boring one.

Good lord this is some good stuff. Pure black with only slight hints of deep amber come through in the corners and a good almost orange/brown head. Nice woody aroma with tons of roasted malt and some chocolate. Hops come through in the flavor in a perfect amount to balance out the awesome chocolate and roasted malt combination. Moderately sweet but balanced perfectly by hops which results in a slightly bitter finish. Smooth as silk.
