Commercial Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bomber....poured deep black with a syrup like consistency. pretty good sized and long lasting tan head. very inviting overall. taste had a good amount of chocolate and roasted coffee. slight bittery finish but the sweetness tended to dominate. not as hoppy as the discription foretold but that was alright by me. mouthfeel was nice with medium body and mild carbonation. ....overall though, a solid imperial stout.

not opaque, but definitely black with a little crimson when held to the light. head is light to medium brown and somewhat lasting. the first thing that hits my nose is the powerful hoppiness. mild cocoa and coffee notes. flavor is quite bitter, alcohol is mildly pronounced, lots of roastiness in the flavor again wild cocoa, big burst of roastiness in the finish. i’d like to say that after 1100+ beers, that i could tell this one is oak-aged. frankly, i can not. however, it’s still a great beer.

Had this beer on 8/20/2007. Aroma is a sweet roasted scent with light back tones of oak. Color is a dead on black with low carbonation, a thin tight dark tan head with lacing that reminds me of fireworks. Taste is rich, roasted and dry. Starting with medium body it goes down with a rich almost thick feel. Finish comes in with a rich roasted (almost burnt) flavor that turns to a mallow bitterness, then leaves you with a dry after taste that continues to build as you sit. Best oak brewed beer I have had they dint over do it and still make a beautiful stout.

Pours black with a small chocolatly head. Nose is very hoppy. Tastes of chocolate and hops and has a long finish. Very good beer, my first oak aged.

Super thick dark pour. Simliar in texture to an Expedition stout. Tan head. Dark. Caramel, chocolate, molasses. Nose reminds me of chocolate milk. Sour, bitter, coffee flavor. Lively. No real oak aged flavors. Some roasted nut notes.

Never thought I’d be sampling this Imperial Stout. Thanks to a trip to egajdzis he was good enough to offer a bottled sample. Coffee, and roasted oak flavor with a subtle whiskey undertone mix well to make a velvet smooth tasting imperial stout. Oak aged Yeti is well balanced. I wonder if I’ll ever get to sample this one again.

Pour is pitch black with thick tan head and good lacing. Looks beautiful. Nose of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, roasted malt and a little dark fruit. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, oak, and dark fruit. More complex and smoother than yeti. Medium mouthfeel.

Thanks so much to Hogtownharry. The first beer after my 5 week break. Aged 2 years. Wonderful hop-honey aroma, burnt chocolate and coffee. Jet black with small but present frothy tan head. WOW, a spicey chocolate mouthful, sharp on the tip of the tongue and warm and chocolatey on its way down, nutmeg, coffee and toffee in there too. The alcohol is hidden exceptionally well. What a truely great imperial stout. Perfect for a celebration on a cold day like today. Thanks Harry.
