Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Pour is black through and through with a light brown head. Lots of chocolate and toasted malt on the nose, hints of oak, some coffee, strong dark fruit notes, and some molasses. Lots more of the oak on the taste, wow, a bit of vanilla, some caramel, dark fruit, toasted malt, milk chocolate, and some dark bitter coffee. Insanely delicious, the oak perfectly compliments the delicious chocolate and coffee notes and rounds this beer out wonderfully.

I bought this bottle a while back, in South Carolina, when I got my chance. I’d been seeing lots of of Yeti, but didn’t know when I’d get my opportunity...there it was! I was very excited to find this variant and couldn’t wait to get it home. So many IPAs to be had before I could get to this, and I’m just finding it tonight, three months later. If you didn’t know it before; tonight is a good night for something dark. -- The bottle opened, the scent of baking chocolate and woody, earthy oak spill out of the neck, tantalizing my senses with a deep musky aroma. A bit of ash and warm vanilla; accents to a spicy hops bite. -- I pour the snifter half full and the scent floods my nostrils, the lush, dark aroma scintillating and sexy. Tenfold the experience, just in a simple pour. The dark, nut-brown liquid is capped with a soft, delicate foam, roasted cashew in color and consistent across the surface. -- The glass tipped to my lips, the thick brew finds every warm rift, slipping under my tongue and making a slow passage to every available part of my mouth, already moist with anticipation. A viscous and decadent feel, its an explosion of flavor, of aroma; the palate a soft, warm blanket of cream coating every exposed space and leaving no room for the flood created by the aromatic experience. As I swallow, the oak and alcohol leave themselves behind, a reminder of the taste, and a tantalizing lure to pull yet another quaff. -- This is a beautiful beer; lovely in aroma, visual, taste, flavor; the overall experience. I can’t believe that as close as I am to Denver, I had to find this in South Carolina. I’ll have to find a way back to another bottle of the Yeti. This was amazing.

Pours opaque black with a nice brown head. Aroma is roast coffee, sweet melting sugar, vanilla, prunes and a little hint of red wine. Taste is milk chocolate, cocoa powder, a hint of sweet molasses, some minute coffee notes, a veritable dose of vanilla and a slight bitterness which is cocoa like on the finish. Full bodied and softly caresses the mouth just like your favourite snuggle blanket caresses your Sunday hangover and makes you feel human again.

22oz bottle pours oily black brown with small dark head. Nose is big brownie batter, chocolate, roast, subtle vanilla, dark fruit and char. Taste is similar with tons of fudgey brownie, chocolate, roast, with light vanilla, syrupy in a good way. Finishes moderately sweet with big roasty brownie, chocolate sauce, cake, vanilla. Awesome.

22 oz bottle shared with ebone1988. Bottled 09/18/2012. The pour is a viscous oily black with a medium brown head and some great lace. The aroma is great. Lots of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, and oak. Licorice comes through on the back end pretty strong and brings a good bitterness to the table. The flavor is very roasty. The malts are smashing you right in the face. The chocolate is much more reserved. The oak isn't there. The bitter licorice comes through on the back end for a little change of pace. The mouth feel is thinner than I want it to be. The carbonation is spot on, but it's just a touch thin. The aftertaste is roasty licorice and a little bitter. I love it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Taste is robust, lots of roasted malt, coffee bitterness, not much on the oak, very robust. Mouthfeel is thin, great carbonation and it hangs around. Overall, it?s pretty impressive.

Väldigt komplex och massiv. Chokladsmak med viss besk eftersmak. Fin med en bit mörk choklad, minst 70%.
