Pours out of the bottle a beautiful dark chocolate brown with a nice thick and persistent head. Aroma is nice and stouty with coffee overtones and chocolate hint. Thick, rich taste has nice bite to it, with strong coffee component and smoky and nutty tones along with hints of chocolate. It goes down very pleasantly and solidly. An excellent brew.

Jan 8, 2009 Poured from a bomber. Chocolate black with a mocha head. Nice aroma of smoky hops and chocolate. Medium bodied. Molasses, vanilla, caramel, maltiness, coffee, and oak. Great length of complex flavors. Somewhat dry hoppy finish. Great brew!!

Jan 7, 2009 Bottle. Black. Nice thick brown head. Complex aroma of hops, butter, coffee and chocolate. The taste is bitter at first. Lots of hops and malted barley. The aftertaste is very complex. Mild tones of whiskey and lots of vanilla. Smooth. Well balanced. Thick.

Jan 5, 2009 I could not think of a single way to improve this. Malty carmelized yumminess over a foundation of molasses coffee bittersweet chocolate, you mild oak spicy note to top it all off.
a dance of complex flavors and completely flawless.
