Commercial Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Black pour with a thick brown head. Malt, chocolate, coffee, anc currants take over your nose. Viscous mouthfeel with a very smooth taste. Perfectly balanced malt and hop profiles with baker’s chocolate, coffee, darker fruits, and oak blending in nicely. Bittersweet finish and long aftertaste. Simply an excellent beer.

Holy Cow! Darkest of brown on the pour with a low, yet thick dark tan head. The aroma is first of chocolate and coffee then of malt, vanilla, and oak. The finish is bitter with a mild alcohol taste. The flavor is very similar, changing as it rolls through the mouth. These excellent offering of flavors are superbly delivered. Do not pass up an opportunity to try Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. At $9.00 for a 22oz bottle, it is very much worth every penny.

Pours like molasses. Thick and dark. Black with a small deep purple head. Taste as big and complex. Coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Very intense but also intricate. An amazing stout.

22oz bomber, no date. Excited to try this one. Pours almost like motor oil with a cramy darker brown head. Aroma of vanilla, oak--kinda whiskeyish--raisins, molasses, bitter chocolate and roasted malts, pine and sweet grapefruity hops, also some alcohol. Taste is quite bitter throughout from both the hops and roasted malts, a little less whiskeyish until the finish. The grapefruit takes a backseat to the pine. There is a slight alcohol burn. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very excellent beer. Update 03/07/07--just had an Expedition before this, and in comparison this has much more chocolate. The alcohol in this one is a little more pronounced. I’m not going to say anything about the oak since the Expedition didn’t have it. I also didn’t alter the score with the update.

Probably the best beer i’ve ever had! my roomie brought this back from Mass. for me. pours a black, almost purple color, with ruby hints when shown against a light. aroma is powerfull, i could smell this from 5 feet away when my friend cracked this. strong caramel, and vanilla notes, with mocha, earthy, yeasty hints. made me drool instantly. flavor is similar. caramel, fudge, mocha, vanilla. hoppy bite in the end. creamy and thick, warms the belly. im gonna have to order a case of these.

RATING 750! Bottle; Pours a thick syrupy opaque black with a big fark tan head, that lasts and laces the glass; Nose has lots of chocolate malt, roastiness, oak , smoke and a little coffee. Flavor of oak and a little alcohol, (the oak and the alcohol combine to impart a bourbonlike taste), vanilla, bitter chocolate, some smoke out of it’s thick body, the bitterness lasting into the finish! Boy is this great stuff! Glad I saved it for #750!

Bottle, 65 cl. Tried this along with the non-oak aged version and I have to say it was quite difficult to pick out the oak. Could be a tired palate though.. will re-rate. Oak or no oak, this is classic!
