There was a small brown head on it that lasts for a short while. It leaves some lacing. It has a nice full nose to it. Chocolate, toffee, coffee, roastiness and some alcohol are most noticeable. There is a lot going on in the taste. There are a ton of hops in here, and they balance out all the malts so there is actually a touch of bitterness with no sweetness. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla are the most noteable flavors. Excellent. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA

Incredibly smooth and silky mouthfeel.
Tried this at the same time as regular Yeti and there was a noticeable difference. jbrus (4916), Delft, Netherlands

Aroma of malts, malts and more malts and blackcurrant, mocca and licorice added to it. Very sweet start that diminishes to leave room for the increasing roasted bitterness. Mocca, licorice, blackcurrant. It’s alle there and lots of it. Viscous, woody dry finish and alcoholic on swallowing. Very nice. Dogbrick (2924), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 3, 2005 I remember the bitterness of the regular version of Yeti being the only thing that kept me from liking it a whole lot more than I did. Luckily with this iteration the almost overdone hops are reined in by the aging. The beer is thoroughly black with a thick dark brown head. Sticky rings of lacing. Big chocolate and hops in the nose. Rich and velvety with lots of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The vanilla advertised on the bottle is there in trace amounts. The finish is where the hops kick in again but they aren’t overwhelming as in the non-aged version. As it stands I liked this one a lot. goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA

Chocolate, roasted malt backed by hops, vanilla, and alcohol. Chocolately flavor mixes with hops, and roasty goodness. Hop bitter finish lasts a long time. As does the alcohol warming. Full mouth feel is smooth almost chewy. Thank you sir may I have another. fly (1334), austin, Tejas, USA

Roasted malt, big coffee, dark bittersweet chocolate, light hoppiness, and light woody notes. Taste is BIG coffee and chocolate with sweet roasty maltiness, pleasant hops, light vanilla and wood. Body is thick and creamy . Very slick and oily in parts. Some stickiness lingering as well. Finish is more coffee, light alcohol, dark chocolate, light hops, vanilla and fresh cut wood. Excellent beer! I need a case of this! whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA

Opaque black body and light brown head with a ruddy tone. Aroma of milk chocolate and roasted malt. Has the same coffee and chocolate notes of the regular Yeti plus a more rounded quality, port-like elements, and some oakiness. Finish is hoppy, bitter and smooth with an apparent dryness. Tannic quality from oak-aging helps fill out the body. A definite upgrade of a fine beer.
