A hearty beer not for the faint of heart. Strong alcohol is apparent with stong coffee, oak, and maple aromas. Taste is complex with chocolate and heavy maltiness.

Bottle from Market of Choice, Eugene. Pours VERY dark, moderate amount of tan head. Aroma yeast chocolate, french oak. Coffee, too. Nice. Body is rich, lively, hitting hard with oaky notes, coffee as well. Really opens up at end, blending sweetness, wood and hops. Yum!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 OKplus (379) - Oklahoma, USA - APR 30, 2013
A - Pours completely opaque. A dark chocolate brown froth sparkles in the light. Forms nice lacing.
S - Dry treated wood, dark chocolate, earthy roasted malt, dry tobacco, hints of vanilla that seems sharpened from the alcohol.
T - Semi-sweet cocoa powder, intense roasted malts. The moderate oak flavor blends with the cocoa to create a strange beach nut type of flavor. Lacquer thinner. The hops and alcohol band together and form an astringent bitterness on the finish.
M - Chewy but smooth, if that makes any sense. A bit hot.
Well I was slightly disappointed by this one. I probably should have let this mellow out. The oak seemed a bit overwhelming and the solvent presence was strong. Everything seemed to be battling to get ahead of one another. I loved the original Yeti.
I might buy another bottle and age it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Crispy34 (157) - Texas, USA - APR 22, 2013
Bomber bottle. Aroma is dark malt and some sweetness with some alcohol. The appearance is black with a little tan head and a little lacing. Tastes stays dark through out while some hops kick in after the sweet of the malt fades. Some dry oak flavor at the end. The palate is dry and dark. Overall, this is a good beer. Will buy again. Well done.

Have a feeling that I drink a slightly too young Yeti. Shall save a bottle and store any year to compare. The sweetness is a bit too obvious, but it highlighted hoppy aftertaste raises impression.
