Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Thick and awesome. On tap at a local pizza joint. Opaque, coffee, motor oil, whatever you want to call it. It was seriously tasty and seriously thick. The oak wasn’t too strong but I felt it brough out the chocolate notes. Alcohol? What alcohol? couldn’t really find it over all the flavors. What makes it special, though, is how the flavors linger for minutes....it’s like beer port wine or something.

650 ml Bottle at home, 28th March 15. Rating #1100. Purchased in Orlando, 2013, bottled 2012. Pours a great rich black drink, with a lovely fluffy head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, wood. Taste is rich and smooth, the oak comes through well and complements the base beer. Good bitterness, prevents this from been too sugary and sweet. Great stuff

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours black with a huge dark brown head.

The aroma offers some nice sweetness & roastiness. It’s got a good chocolate thing going on for sureAs it opens up a little bit of toasted marshmallow comes thorught. The oak is mild on the noes and the fruity hoppiness of yeti is a little more subdued in this one.

The flavor is pretty oak forward, not in a bad way... just in a surprising way. There is a nice hoppy punch to greet you with this beer akin to it’s un-oaked counterpart. The beer has nice dark fruit a good level of bitterness, some mild sweetness and a nice dark chocolate character all around. Honestly this one handles that whole big imperial stout without a big sweetness thing extraordinarily well.

Life is good. Stor takk til Sigmund og Cardinal.

Bittersweet chocolate, vanilla and coffee with amazing outdoorsy overtones, particularly in the aroma. Drink this out in the woods and your head will probably explode.

Side by side with yeti. Lots of oak. Thick and black like oil. Traces of vanilla. Delicious.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 23.03.15. Black. Foamy and dense brown head and lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee and wood. Similar taste. Rather good. Soft mouthfeel.

650ml bottle enjoyed @ home. Pours pitch black with a creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, cold coffee, vanilla and oak. Flavour is bitter chocolate, coffee and a little salty. Full bodied, oily texture, low carbonation. Finish is bitter and roasted.

Aroma is heavy and dark chocolate notes combined with some licorice and wet wood. The taste is like the regular Yeti’s long lost big brother coming home from a trip in the woods, with all kinds of stuff in the fur after wading through cold wooden creeks, tree branches and moist forest vegetation. Roasted but rounded and heavy malts, coffee, licorice. In the aftertaste the sweetness takes over more, but there’s also a kind of lingering bitterness in the background.

We had mixed feelings on this beer that cost around $9. Part of the reason was it was so unique.

Jet black with smallish tan head. Huge roasted aroma, slightly smoky or charred, some dark forest floor notes, chinese mushroom soy and a deep, dark fruitiness. Full bodied palate, big malty body, some sweetness and a rather big bitterness towards the long finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
