COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Aroma was a chocolate malt cloud, smooth chocolate taste with a hint of vanilla, bigtime bitter in the aftertaste, probaly coming more from the roasted barley thanhops. More a fall and winter beverage

I dont believe in absolute perfection, but this beer come close. It has a great chocolate flavor with oaky accents. Easily the best imperial stout i have ever had!

delectible delight. Nice chocolate and coffee balanced by vanilla and woodyness. Fantastic liquid.

Bottle, pours a beautiful dark black with perfect inch-high mocha head that disappears quickly. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, biscuit and a hint of cocoa. Cocoa forward on the taste with a nice, malty backbone. Smooth, light mouthfeel that does not linger. A lovely stout.

6 month old bomber poured in a snifter. Pitch black finger of mocha colored head. Roasted malt, oak, dark chocolate, dark fruits, and sweetness aroma. Medium body. Smokey roasty malt taste. A little chocolate. Raisin with a huge smokey oak after taste. Overall very pleasant yeti. Very balanced and extremely good. Can not even tell it’s 9.5% ABV. Try it out if you like the Yeti.

Mycket doft av choklad, kaffe och vanilj. Bra balans mellan beska, fyllighet och sötma. Smak av ek. Riktigt bra.

This is a smooth stout that was a delight to drink. The only negative I experienced was the smell, it wasn’t as enticing as everything else was.

Coffee, chocolate, roasty, toast, licorice, smoke, oak of course. Really nice stout but I think I prefer the regular yeti over this.

Bottle shared at my 30:th birthday tasting on May 5 (30 år av Surt). Courtesy of Gnoff. 2006 vintage. Pours oily pitch black with a creamy dark chocolate brown head that slowly dissipates while leaving some lacing ad trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, wood, dark chocolate, vanilla, liquorice fudge, sweetened coffee, alcohol and hints of orange zest and resin. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, coffee, bitter chocolate, pine, vanilla, smoke, alcohol, vanilla, bourbon and hints of wet soil and oxidation. Mouthfeel is intense, oily bitter, sticky sweet and full bodied. Finish is tiny dry, tiny sweet and bitter with coffee, cocoa, pine and orange peal.

Véritable lait frappé d’une onctuosité sublime, chocolaté, torréfié, velouté avec une buvabilité titanesque. Je n’ai pas pu prendre de notes, trop occupé à la déguster.

22oz bomber, bottled on OCT 05 2009 into CCB snifter. A - Pours black, mocha-colored head, frothy, thick cap, sticky lace, thin cap. S - Straight forward dark chocolate and oak, not surprising. Roast, light burnt sugars, and toasted malts. Although there’s no real surprise here, it’s really is spot-on and simply lives it to the bill. T - More oak then the nose suggests, dark chocolate, toffee, light caramel. I was expecting a bit more sweetness but really the oak is just huge in this beer now. Not sure if the age has anything to do with it or not. Alcohol is pretty smooth after some cellar time. Finish is straight forward bitter chocolate and wood. M - Full, rich and smooth, good carbonation, creamy rich finish. O - Perhaps a little too much oak on the palate for me, but overall, a very nice beer that really lives up to the higher ratings. Easily accessible off the shelf and the quality of this beer makes it way more attractive then most beers currently on the shelf. Good stuff.
