COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark.  The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character.  Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a softer beast.

Keg @ Mekong. Deep brown with a small head. Cocoa, oatmeal cookies. Rich and sweet. Flavor is similar. Pillowy oatmeal. Grain. Charred cocoa and dark chocolate. Sickly burnt sugar on the finish. Oily and sweet. Full. Definitely not my favorite of the series.

On tap, poured into a snifter. Raisin, sweet syrupy caramel, oatmeal, and a light chocolate chip touch strike the nose. It pours a deep, dark, opaque black-brown with a soapy brown head. A thin, uneven island is left on the surface which eventually reduces further to just some wisps with a thin soapy ring. A good amount of even, small-bubble lace is left behind. The taste is a medium high bitter with a medium sweet. The beer is thick and chewy with a full body and a light, fizzy carbonation. Flavors of coffee bean, oatmeal, raisin, dark cherry and a mild citrus all come through. If finishes spicy, clean, and fresh with some pine-like qualities and it leaves a clean coffee aftertaste.

Let me just put it this way. This beer is waaaaaaaaaay too sweet. Ouch! Bordering on painful to drink. No roast ones at all. Ech. Decent aroma but that's it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is dark malts, dark fruit, slight nuttiness and a hint of scotch. The flavor is dark malts, dark fruit, mild nuttiness/funk

Bottle, shared by me, in my kitchen... just a few hours ago.

The beer pours basically black with a tight tan head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is roasty with a big cocoa presence and some nice dark fruit. It’s sweet smelling but not overbearingly so, and the booziness is a touch hot.

The flavor is roasty with a nice level of coffee and dark chocolate. There is a hop and roast bitterness here that is pretty strong but not off putting. There is a bit of hop flavor in there as well & t’s got a nice level of sweetness to balance all of this with some nice mild dark fruit. It’s a touch boozy, but that sort of works here.

Bottle. Pours black with thin bubbly head that dissipates. Sweet aroma of cherry over mild carbonation. Chocolate coffee bitterness with nice mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great mix. Breakfast. Bitter finish. Black pour with mocha head and lacing. Great drinkable mix here. Lots of roast, and some sweetness. Tap at Snallygaster.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours pitch-black with a small, creamy, cappuccino head. Smells like a marriage of fudge and brownies. Full-bodied and super velvety with soft carbonation. The flavor offers smooth chocolate crème, dark chocolate and deeply-roasted malts. Trends bitter, but not by much, and has no rough edges. I didn’t pick up any raisins or dark fruit, but don’t care. World class beer and a joy to drink!

Pours very dark with a full finger colored head. Aroma says it all with wood almost toffee. Flavor is bursting with sweet chocolate, vanilla, slight oak, and a clear hint of coffee / espresso. This is now one of my favorite warm weather beers.
