COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark.† The addition of rolled oats softens Yetiís notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character.† Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a softer beast.

From notes. On draft at Stoneís Bistro in Escondido on August 13, 2013. Pours mostly black with some brown highlights and a very thin layer of brown head. AROMA of earthy dark roasted malts, creamy milk chocolate, dark cafe au lait, with hints of breakfast oatmeal...aroma actually reminds me of breakfast with the coffee and oatmeal elements. FLAVOR of smooth dark bittersweet chocolate, mild coffee, a subtle nice grainy oatmeal, and a hint of dark fruit (raisins). Finishes with lingering bitter chocolate. Nicely soft on the palate, probably due to the oatmeal. The 9.5% ABV is completely hidden. This is actually fairly distinguished from the other Yetis...a softer beast indeed. (255, 897)

651 ml. bottle. Bottled Jul. 10 2014. Pours a thick well retained, tiny bubbled, light brown head, with some lacing, over a clear, brownish black (SRM 35) body.....nose is dried fruit, including plum, raisin, hints of toffee/caramel, cocoa, chocolate, light coffee, mild herbal hops, balance to the malts......taste is lightly sweet, with hints of plum, raisin, light toffee/caramel, heavier chocolate, coffee, finishing dry with moderate hop bitterness, balance to the malts.....mouth feel, moderately heavy, very creamy body from both carbonation and oats, alcohol warmth quite present, slight acid and astringency. This is a lovely, rich, thick, creamy, complex beer. The addition of oats to the malt bill is a great step forward. BJCP 8/3/15/5/8

As of late I can not find the time to take tasting notes of each beer I sample. I would like to track and record my thoughts of each so I will just use the simple scoring rubric until more time is available.

Pours from the bottle nearly black with thick, luscious well-sustained dark khaki foam. It smells of mocha, caramel, raisins and alcohol. Itís full-flavored, a bit slick and velvety. Smooth and roast with chocolate and coffee, caramel and raisin sweetness gradually emerge and blend. Itís a bit syrupy and sweet when well chilled, but as it warms the roastyness lends itself very well to the fruit... Reeeeally good.

bottle. dark black pour with thin lasting tan head. another beautiful looking Yeti. alcohol heavy in aroma but also some sweetness. hard to put my finger on it. creamy and rich. I really like this one. The oats cut it a bit and the raisons add another layer. pretty damn good but thatís what you come to expect from the Yeti line.

Aromas of dark roasted malts, chocolate and hints of dark fruit. A brownish black pour with a non-lastig khakie head and moderate lacing. The taste is overall bitter. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, hints of dark fruit, concludes with a aggressive hop bitter finish. Medium-full body with high carbonation. Overall, well done. The oats do soften the overall bitterness.

Bomber. Pours a stouty blackish-brown, opaque, big bubbly mocha colored head with excellent retention and way wicked lacing. Nose is coffee, dark roasted barley, cocoa, butterscotch, wet paper. Mouth is medium-full, oaty silkiness lightly coats the tongue, bittersweet, coffee, bakerís chocolate, diacetyl butterscotchiness, raisins, toasted pumpernickel bread. Medium bitter finish. Decent.
