Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark.  The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character.  Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a softer beast.

Pitch black, aroma with mild notes of belgian yeast, chocolate, coffee. The oatmeal makes this much smoother then the original. Really good!

Bottle, shared by me, in my kitchen... just a few hours ago.

The beer pours basically black with a tight tan head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is roasty with a big cocoa presence and some nice dark fruit. It’s sweet smelling but not overbearingly so, and the booziness is a touch hot.

The flavor is roasty with a nice level of coffee and dark chocolate. There is a hop and roast bitterness here that is pretty strong but not off putting. There is a bit of hop flavor in there as well & t’s got a nice level of sweetness to balance all of this with some nice mild dark fruit. It’s a touch boozy, but that sort of works here.

Bottle. Pours black with thin bubbly head that dissipates. Sweet aroma of cherry over mild carbonation. Chocolate coffee bitterness with nice mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great mix. Breakfast. Bitter finish. Black pour with mocha head and lacing. Great drinkable mix here. Lots of roast, and some sweetness. Tap at Snallygaster.

6 oz draft pour at Snallygaster 2014 shared by someone. Black with tan head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, vanilla, oats. Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, oats. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Delicious.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours pitch-black with a small, creamy, cappuccino head. Smells like a marriage of fudge and brownies. Full-bodied and super velvety with soft carbonation. The flavor offers smooth chocolate crème, dark chocolate and deeply-roasted malts. Trends bitter, but not by much, and has no rough edges. I didn’t pick up any raisins or dark fruit, but don’t care. World class beer and a joy to drink!

Pours very dark with a full finger colored head. Aroma says it all with wood almost toffee. Flavor is bursting with sweet chocolate, vanilla, slight oak, and a clear hint of coffee / espresso. This is now one of my favorite warm weather beers.

9oz goblet at Spacebar. Poured a pitch black color with a small tan head. Roasted aroma, with a strong chocolate presence, like the regular Yeti. Flavor is that of bitter coffee, bitter dark chocolate, and extremely roasted malts. Some light creamy grain notes from this one, which are clearly from the oats, which produced a slightly different body.

Aw yeah, there is a thick juicy yummyness about this brew. It’s intense with ripe dark fruity chocolate and a well balanced hint of roasted malts in this well-done Yeti. I had my first in at the Nickel Taphouse in Baltimore. Wonderful silky smooth beverage with a robust beige foamy head. The carbonation here is balanced. The mocha chocolaty flavor makes it very special. I would compare this to Oscar’ Blues’sTen-Fidy with less of a hop presence.

"Not sure where my score for this went... here we go again. had it super fresh, and with a few months on it. Toned down. Smoother than regular yeti, not as aggressively hopped, with an extra layer of sweetness. Still tons of roast and chocolate, and still awesome."

Pours completely black with what is probably the darkest and frothiest heads I’ve ever seen on a beer. Aroma of roasted dark chocolate, milk, and vanilla. Taste is sweet milk chocolate at first but quickly turns into coffee bean bitterness. The bitterness lingers for awhile on the back of the tongue and is kind of unpleasant. Very heavy bodied with a thick palate that makes you think you’re drinking crude oil.
