Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark.  The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character.  Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a softer beast.

It is a well blend aroma of oatmeal, raisins, and roasted malts. It is colored black with a rich chocolate brown head that slowly dissipates. A very rich taste with some bitterness that blends the oatmeal and the malts well, with a hint of the raisins. Definitely one of my favorites.

Bottle. Black. Dark roast on nose, sweet soy sauce, dark chocolate, weak milky notes. Full bodied, soft smooth texture. Malty chocolate, soy in flavour. Feels a bit lifeless though. Just past bbe, if that has any impact. Good overall, just a bit less than expected.

Musta, hivenen runsaampi mutta reunoille vetäytyvä kohtalaisen kuohkea vaahto. Vetisehkö, hivenen leipäisä suuntuntuma suussasulavan liukas, makea, mietoa alkoholia, napakka suutuntuma. Jälkimakuna vetistä liukkautta ja mietoa alkoholia. Helpohko nautiskeluolut.

650 ml bottle @ ISKTR V. Pours a black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of roastiness, some cream, milk chocolate and some mild red berry sourness. Flavour of rich roastiness, metallic notes, weird oily notes, red berry sourness, grassy bitterness, some herbal notes and strong graininess. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Quite dry mouthfeel. Unbalanced. Disappointing.

65 cl bottle @ ISKTR V.
Pours jet black color with a large beige head. Quite grainy and oaty aroma, chocolate and vanilla and some spices. Sweet chocolaty flavor, some cocoa, faint potato notes I also found on Imperial Biscotti Break, subtle fruits too. Quite different from the base Yeti, a bit of a disappointment.

650ml bottle @ ISKTR

Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, coffee, chocolate, hints of oaty raisins. Taste is smooth, sweetish and roasty with some licorice, coffee, chocolate and oaty raisiny notes. Finish is smooth, heavy and sweetish with some roastiness, oatmeal, raisin and dark chocolate. Not as good as the regular Yeti.

I’ve liked the past Yeti beers but this one is just a little too sweet. Raisins do come across a bit in the nose.
