msante79 (778), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Mar 22, 2008 Bomber. Pours a deep amber with a tan head. Aroma of hops, carmel and sweet malts. Flavor is hops, dark fruits, malts and caramel. Finishes bitter. Very hoppy for a barley wine. The first barley wine I ever had and was preasently suprised
KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Mar 21, 2008 Hazy dark amber with large off white head. Hoppy aroma with caramel and roasted malt notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, caramel and loads of hops. Ends bitter. Blom (390), Odense, Denmark Mar 21, 2008 Ruby red with a dense head. Bittersweet aroma of grass and caramel with some butter too. The flavours are very strong: caramel, alchohol, sweet oils, basement, wood, pine and grape. And lastly an overall massive palatte makes this beer a great experience. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Mar 18, 2008 22oz bottle from bottletrek.com A cloudy, rusty brown pour. A thin off white ring for a head. Nose was full of hops and sweet malty aromas. Finish was semi sweet with some hop bitterness. t4h2c0 (80), seattle, Washington, USA Mar 17, 2008 Good balance of hops and malt, not too hop heavy but definetly hoppy for a barley wine. Great beer but does not really stand out. At first I loved it then I ended up just liking it. Pours orangish and had a grapfruit malty nose. Surprised to hear it was 90 ibus. Good beer for easy drinking as far as barley wines go!! unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Mar 17, 2008 Vintage 2005. Blind tasting. Thick rocky head. Deep copper color, rusty head. Flavors of residual sweetness. Lots of citrus hop character on the palate. Very flavorful. Finishes with a big bitterness. Full Bodied. This is just how I love my Barley Wines! mvcramer (229), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA Mar 16, 2008 Again - I’m not a huge fan of the style. But this one was more palatable than most others. Color and aroma were consistent with expectations for the style. Taste was more balanced than the aroma - and more drinkable than most others in this style. Taverner (827), San Ramon, California, USA Mar 15, 2008 Updated: Apr 6, 2008Great piney aroma, and full of yeasty notes. Pours almost flat with very little carbonation, a cloudy amber with a thick darkness in the middle. Notes of caramel, pine and malts. It’s creamy like Hercules, and definitely seems like it’s cut from the same cloth.
