4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle Pours a deep mahogany with a very large thick creamy light tan head. I actually looks like that spray foam insulation. Aroma is a sweet rich carmel, vanilla with a hint of alcohol. Flavor is quite sharp, thick and swet with a rather strong ABV slant. After taste is a pungent but expected hope bite. Very smooth and rather soft carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On draft at brewery last April. Pours a copper brown with big amber head and some lace. Aroma of rich malts. Moderate carbonation and big mouthfeel. Flavors of strong alcohol, rich malts, bitter hops, nuts, earth, peat. Intensely rich and bold ... similar to an Avery Hog Heaven but less sweet. It’s good to let it open up to fully enjoy this bold but smooth beauty.

Dark red orange pour with a nice off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel, candied citrus, and some booze. Taste is sweet and boozy. Tons of caramel and syrup with some citrus, and hop bitterness. Pine in the aftertaste. Body is a bit thinner than I was expecting.

aroma of dark fruits and caramel prevalent, some floral qualities in the background nice typical barleywine scent..head is pure white but doesn’t last long becoming a cloudy film, opague brown red liquid..taste..whew malt bomb with plenty of alcohol burn the hops promised are there but really overwhelmed and unbalanced..sticky and fizzy on the palate I made a face while drinking this very much like a sweet fizzy sherry or marsala wine not for me but if maltbombs are your thing this might be just for you

Poured from a 22 oz bomber, this "barley wine style ale" is cloudy orange-brown in color with a sweet Carmel aroma. Very sweet flavor with ripe apricot or passion fruit notes.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Huge lasting white head. Aroma of fermentation and funk...in a good way. Sips smooth and slightly light bodied for a barley wine. The 10.2 abv is very well masked. Finish is malty and caramel like. Best barley wine I’ve ever had.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep orange/brown color with a large white head that sticks around and produces a large amount of lacing. Smells a little bit of bourbon, very much caramel and there is a bit of hop background. Taste first of sweet caramel and then moves on into hops, a bit of floral and some citrus. Really great beer

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle from Nov. 2010.
Aroma has a a faint spicy and herbal hop character. Moderate caramel with some light toffee notes. Medium light fruit esters of raisin, prune, plum and fig.
Pours a slightly murky amber brown with a medium thick tan head with decent retention that lingers on the edges along with a thin film on top.
Flavor is similar with a light hop character of herbal and pine resin character with moderately strong to strong bitterness. A light citrus hop character. Moderate caramel flavor with a light toffee note. Light fruit esters of raisin, fig, plum and prune. Light alcohol spice in the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall a fairly enjoyable American barley wine but not amazing either. Some faint hop character still present. Oxidation is very faint and fruitiness is light and complimentary.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Nice creamy head, and gorgeous deep amber brown hue. Aroma is malty goodness and brown sugar. Taste also wonderful, sweet, fruity, toasty, hoppy, and a touch earthy. Smooth, it coats the tongue in a rich caramel feeling. This had about 6 months on it, which took down a bit of the holiness, in a very good way.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a beautiful dark ruby reddish. Large fluffy beige head, fairly lasting with thick soapy topping and thick lace. Aroma is voluptuous; rich caramel, red fruity notes, balanced by hops, fresh and inviting! Flavor follows. Medium to full body. Super smooth and creamy. Finish is pleasant pineish hops balanced by great malty sweetness. Perfect balance. Did not find this to be too big or too hoppy or too bitter..at all. Alcohol tucked away nicely. Really enjoyable, surprisingly approachable. I like the way this one is put together.
