COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Orabelle is brewed with barley, wheat, and rye. This Belgian-style tripel is a golden beauty. Its two yeast strains, orange peel, and dash of corriander impart suprising complexity and richness to this delicate ale. Don’t let ORABELLE’s nature fool you, this is one flavorful brew. Watch out, she’s a charmer- one sip and you’ll be in love.

12 oz bottle pours a pale golden/straw color with fair white head but not much lacing. Aroma is everything I expected from a classic Belgian White: Orange peel, coriander, wheat, earthy yeast. (nevermind that RB calls it a Tripel). Taste is slightly bitter. Body is medium. Alcohol is very well hidden - I thought it was more like 5.5%. This one is very drinkable and refreshing and one I will definitely try again.

Pleasant aroma of coriander, wheat and yeast. Bright yellow color with no foam. Remarkably smooth flavors of vanilla, orange, coriander, wheat and honey. Nice caramel undertones present more on the finish. Overall, it’s very drinkable and smooth. Well masked alcohol. I’d give this an A- rating.

Bottled. Cloudy opaque yellow color, and a good sized white head. Coriander and orange is prominent, and this has some qualities of a wheat beer. Sweet malt with yeast, spice, citrus. Good.

Pours a light golden with a very light haze and boozy head. Aromas sugary caramel, slight banana ester, grass and wheat-like/bread. Flavors sugary sweet caramel, grass, slight herbal hops, slight banana (from yeast). Medium to high sweetness, medium dry finish, light bitterness and a slight spicy aftertaste.

Pours a cloudy straw golden with a thick, fluffy off-white head that settles slowly to a thick ring and leaves heaps of lace. Nose involves some sharp lemony citrus, definitive briny coriander spice, pastry dough, a touch of pine forest, some rustic bread, a bit of mimosa. Pretty sweet, fairly tart, slightly bitter. Toward full bodied, creamy, soft, with a lengthy tart and spicy finish. I’m a little torn with this. I like parts of it (appearance, body, citrus aspects of aroma), and I’m not a fan of other parts (competing flavors, f-ing coriander). I think this would make both a good mimosa and a good chelada. Is that fucked up? I put coriander and lemon (or lime) juice in my bloody marys, and this beer makes me want to put hot sauce in it for some reason. I think it’s incredibly drinkable at its size, and the complexity is fair though I wish it was more yeast driven and less added spice driven.
