Commercial Description:
A malty, copper-hued treat from start to finish, Ridgeline begins with a distinctive, estery aroma. Followed with a complex, nutty malt flavor true to its Scottish-style heritage, Ridgeline delivers unparalleled character and dimension. A touch of hops rounds out its silky, full body, highlighting Ridgeline’s subtle but engrossing character.

What a nice beer on a hot afternoon! Nice hops but not too strong, nice malt but not overpowering. Nice aftertaste.

Bottle at the Rover, Göteborg, Sweden. Aroma is fruity and slightly roasted, with faint hop notes. Medium bodied, decent carbonation. A bit unbalanced.

Bottle. Poured orange-amber with a rocky cream head. Grainy and grassy aroma. Biscuity and sweet cereal malt flavor, nice and smooth with a shy showing (a trace really) of citrus hops, though the restraint of the hop hand is actually a good thing here. Medium to full bodied but very drinkable. Nothing overly exciting (since it is just an amber ale), but a pretty smooth sessionable beer.

Appearance: Pours a bright, crystal clear orange-amber body with a fizzy, ivory head. Smell: Sweet-smelling bready aroma with caramel and a soft, floral hop scent. Taste: Semi-sweet butterscotch with roasted malts start with a little bump of fruitiness as you reach the finish. The finish itself is clean and quick, with just a bit of a bitter, citrusy hop presence. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Moderately carbonated. A bit watery. Drinkability: Though simple and clean, its reasonably flavorful and quite drinkable.

Bottle. Sweet aroma has apple cider and some dark sweet caramel. Orange-amber body, clear with an enormous soapy beige head. Bittersweet taste - very much like that of an ESB - focuses on the sweetish caramel with faint nuttiness in the bg. Touch of orange rind. Tingling mf, medium (but slightly light) body. Light floral hops last beyond the liquid phase. Simple little guy, no major flaws, but much more like a Brown Ale in my book.

Waaaaaayyyyyy too sweet. Tastes like a sugary walnut browney. Color is copperish-amber, with a tiny head that disappears quickly. Very syrupy. Not one of the better american ambers out there. I would not recommend this one, unless you really care for an ultra sweet beer.

355ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki , American Week 2007). Typical US sweet sticky aroma. Taste has all the metallic nature of bitterness without the fullness. Unsophisticated, and lacking the maltiness that I believe ambers should have.
