Commercial Description:
A malty, copper-hued treat from start to finish, Ridgeline begins with a distinctive, estery aroma. Followed with a complex, nutty malt flavor true to its Scottish-style heritage, Ridgeline delivers unparalleled character and dimension. A touch of hops rounds out its silky, full body, highlighting Ridgeline’s subtle but engrossing character.

[Bottled at Old Eskil Ölkultur, Eskilstuna] Brownish amber, small creamy head. Toffeeish nose. Sweetish and caramelly with clean, rounded mouthfeel and notes of milk chocolate. Low bitterness. A pretty solid little beer, well worth drinking on its own.

Poured from the bottle an deep amber color with foamy off white head. Malty, somewhat nutty aroma. First taste was roasted malt and butterscotch, but not overly sweet, followed by a mild hop presence in the background. Full flavor and very drinkable, a great fall session brew. Highly recommended.

Another good beer from Great Divide. The amber beer they’ve brewed is one that can be consumed with many variety of foods. Quite refreshing, with a sweet caramel malt profile that is very thirst quenching.

(Bottle at The Rover, Göteborg) Pours amber/red with a non-existing white head. Sweet and malty, cookie, toffee scent. Hoppy notes. Taste: minerals, a bit parsley. Buttery pancakes. Behind the rich carbonation lays a silky smooth mouthfeel. Notes of cucumber and nuts in the aftertaste.

Appearance: Lots of red hues coming through in this amber copper body. This is a very attractive beer with a huge light beige head. Smell: Malty toasted aroma with grains and caramel leading with a hint of Werther’s Original and nuts finishing with a remote smidgen of spicy hops. Taste: Simple and clean but fantastic in that simplicity. It is a perfectly balanced rich flavor full of malts and caramel and yet balanced with a light hop bitter. The sweet butterscotch caramel flavor fades slowly and leaves you wanting more. Mouthfeel: This is a chewy Scottish ale but not as heavy as some. Drinkability: I love the flavor and the beer sits light (for the style) making it irresistibly drinkable! Hope this is helpful. Cheers!

Pours deep amber- brown colour with an intense fluffy and thick head. Scent is sweet and malty/hoppy. Flavour is light but not lacking in character. There is a slight metallic tinge to it unfortunately. Overall it is a nice amber ale, but not greatly outstanding comparable to some others...

I really have grown to like Great Divide. They are a less creative, but stronger and more robust dogfish head in my opinion. This beer pours beautiful amber gold. Smell is a boquet of caramel, malts, and butterscotch. Taste is hopy yet crisp and clean. very nicely done and if gen. america buys buy "Crisp, Clean" and oxymorons like "Light yet filling," then this should be the beverage of choice. Not some offputting lager or pilsner.
