Commercial Description:
A malty, copper-hued treat from start to finish, Ridgeline begins with a distinctive, estery aroma. Followed with a complex, nutty malt flavor true to its Scottish-style heritage, Ridgeline delivers unparalleled character and dimension. A touch of hops rounds out its silky, full body, highlighting Ridgeline’s subtle but engrossing character.

Light amberish brown color, with a small tan head. Flavor is mostly caramel, with some rich nuttiness, and just a hint of citrus hoppiness. Nicely balanced and easy to drink.

Pours amber with decent tan head. Yeasty aroma, average flavor, mild bitter aftertaste. Had better. Maybe its because I was slightly under the weather at the time.

12oz bottle from a mix a six. Bottled in the second week of November ’05. Served around 48° in lager glass. Amber color with a light, off-white head. Nutty, malty aroma, with some vanilla? notes. The initial taste is moderately sweet, nutty malt followed by a rush of piney hops backed by a nutty, brown sugar malty base, and a balanced finish. Mouthfeel is average. The beer is an average amber (one of my least favorite styles) with a little more mid-taste bitterness than other amber ale’s, but not something that I would buy again.

Bottle: The aroma is yeasty, malty, lemony, doughy. The look is, well amber. A off-white head towers over beer and enjoys the beer with you for a little while. Rather strong citrus tastes I feel like. Maybe some malts, hops, nutty, caramel/butterscotch in there as well. Kind of a sharp biting mouthfeel. Overall not a bad beer, but nothing to rave about.

from 12 oz. bottle pours a beautiful thick honey color. The aroma is very sweet, much like honey as well. The caramel-colored head was a good two fingers on a good pour, and fades after a few minutes. Little to no lacing was present after I enjoyed the decent carbonation on the first taste all through to the full bodied bitterness that finishes this amber ale. The taste itself is actually the weakest point, being slightly nutty with a sour malt taste. Still a decent drink, but not something to seek out.

Bottle-Pour a large head that reduced and stayed with the drink. The color was a light amber. Some taste of caramel with a stronger hop finish. Not too much like other amber ales

Bottle. I enjoyed this ale more as I drank it, and if the weather was right, I might be inclined to down more than a few. But it is winter and that will have to wait. It poured a cloudy amber with a white foam that seemed to be overly carbonated.

Poured with solid off-white head that disappeared soon. Sweet malty character with a light hop bite just beneath. Enjoyable, but I’d rather have their IPA.
