willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Oct 7, 2005 09.30.05 Bottle at brewery. Amber color with beige, lasting head. I almost drowned in this trying to find hops, by which I fully expected to be assaulted. Decent stuff is nutty and earthy like baled straw on a hot day. Some hop bite toward the end. Creamy medium body thins with temp. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 30, 2005 12 oz bottle-pours a light tan head. Color is clear red. Aroma is grain. Taste is nutty, grain and is a nice mild beer. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA Sep 22, 2005 Bottle - typically when I say a beer smells like brewday I am referring to the hops. This one has the aroma of the grain on brewday - a pleasant and unexpected first for me! Dirty copper body. Smallish light beige to off white head. Nice flavor, as well. I get a lot of the same grain character that ends with a quite sweet finish - as expected. I’m a bit surprised that this beer has rated as low as it has, but then again - it is an amber and not a Double IPA or Imperial Stout. NachlamSie (1631), Tennessee, USA Sep 18, 2005 bottle. Light amber hue with a good lasting white head. The aroma is bright and yeasty with some citrusy hops. This brew begins with a sparkling peachy hop flavor and fades to a semi-sugary maltiness. It’s a little thin, but not a terrible brew. sunevdj (1765), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Sep 17, 2005 Updated: Jun 23, 2006Pours dark amber with a little head. Nice lacing. Very appealing looks. Quite bitter, medium sweetness and a light sourness. Malty aromas of caramel- and roasted malts and nuts. Also a hint of grapefruits. Medium bodied. Short dry finish. Lacks something interesting. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA Sep 6, 2005 Bottle. Very amber colored pour. Sweet caramel aroma. Sugary and almost candied caramel malt flavor. A bit bready, and a a fair bit nutty. Its ok. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 6, 2005 Updated: Jun 28, 2006I have only recently begun sampling the beers from this company. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bronze-orange color with a medium sized orange-tan head. The aroma is sour and vegetal. The flavor has a rich and thick malt base with a sour vegetal undercurrent. Very bock like in my opinion. Fairly well made but not a type of beer that suits me well. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA Sep 1, 2005 bright and clear amber body, creamy light tan head. lotz of fizzyness racing up the body. aroma is faintly like kraft caramel squares and some sour hops. flavor is a little malty sweet, a little watery, and pretty hoppy in the finish for an amber ale. kind of what’s to be expected from Great Divide. nice to have on a pleasant and mild 1st day of September. thanks to secret santa 1faststi!
