fakepurseninja (773), Washington, USA Aug 12, 2007 On the thin side of being medium bodied. WAY too much fresh nut and wood in the malt. Tastes un-ripened which gives is a strong tart finish without enough character to make up for the poor malt showing. Really a sham to call this a scotch ale. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Aug 10, 2007 I agree with biznizness: Why does every microbrewery think they must make an amber? Is there that much demand for them in a world where craft brew fans are mostly stouties, hopheads or fruities? Points to ponder. I had this on tap at the brewery last summer, and remember it being very average, with nothing that really stood out. biznizness (930), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Aug 9, 2007 Please remind me, someday when I am a brewpub owner, that it really is not necessary to brew and bottle a pale ale, and esb, and an amber ale. I think some of that energy is better spent trying something more adventurous and creative. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Aug 5, 2007 Bottle, pours an light cloudy copper color, with a light tan head, that lasts nicely. An ok brew but a bit watery, moderate hops, not but, but nothing special. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2007 This beer was a little disappointing, considering it is a Great Divide beer. It lacks the subtle sweetness that other ambers can deliver and sneaks in a bitter aftertaste. larsniclas (3383), Gothenburg, Sweden Aug 3, 2007 Bottled.
Golden with a huge, creamy, off-white head.
Light toffee-aroma. Some apples and vegetables also present.
Lightly burnt flavour; chocolate-toffee. A bit thin. Dry and bitter. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jul 30, 2007 Fruity malt taste. Clear dark orange color with some white foam. Lightly sweet taste with a chewy palate. scottmc (167), Lakewood, Colorado, USA Jul 30, 2007 Bottle. A mild bodied amber ale. The aroma is great with hints of oak and nuts. A heavy malt flavor finish.
