Commercial Description:
A malty, copper-hued treat from start to finish, Ridgeline begins with a distinctive, estery aroma. Followed with a complex, nutty malt flavor true to its Scottish-style heritage, Ridgeline delivers unparalleled character and dimension. A touch of hops rounds out its silky, full body, highlighting Ridgeline’s subtle but engrossing character.

Bottle poured a clear dark amber with a large lasting off white head. Aromas of sweet malt, carmel and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light tomedium bodied and silky. Flavors of carmel, light nuttiness and a hint of vanilla with a crisp lightly sweet finish. An excellent session beer!

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a spare, frothy, off-white head, diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, toasted, nutty), light hops (grass), average yeast (dough, sweat) with notes of apple and vegetable. Light bodied, mineral texture, average carbonation and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

This beer formed a small sized tan head with fine-large sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. The body was cloudy and had some lively carbonation present. The hue was copper and the nose was hoppy, malty, fruity and vinegar. The flavor was sour, tart, bitter and tangy. The mouthfeel ws tingly on my tongue, smooth and medium bodied. The lacing was decent.

Rerate On tap at Leon Pub, Tallahassee, Fl. - a bit more bland and boring this time around, Original 3.1 Part of a Birthday Beer Bouquet from Grapevine Liquors in Austin. Pours a light amber color with a creamy frothy white head and decent lacing. Aroma has a bit of dustiness to it with a bit of smelly feet essence to it but somewhat redeems itself with a bit of nuttiness. Flavor has tad bit of spiciness, some nutty maltiness and a bit of underlying hoppiness. Mouthfeel is decent enough. Overall, an average amber.

Draught. Clear copper color with 2 fingers of off white head and a nice curtain of lace. Weak malty and sprucy hop nose. Flavor is dominated by caramel malt, but there is also sprucy hops, dried fruit, and sweet corn. Pleasant cereal grain aftertaste. Good beer.

Dark amber colored, little light brown head. Rather mild aroma for being this brewery’s product: toffee, sweet chocolate and only mild hoppiness there. Medium bodied. Flavor is more hopped with mild caramel, still slightly watery and thin flavor. Mild lemon in aftertaste.

Pours clear amber with a brown tint. Medium tan head with decent retention, and patchy lacing. Sweet malt and caramel aroma. Medium-bodied and malty with a light hops bite underneath. Some yeast is present too. The finish is mostly sweet with a light nutty and hoppy finish. Decent, but not worth going out of my way for.
