Commercial Description:
A malty, copper-hued treat from start to finish, Ridgeline begins with a distinctive, estery aroma. Followed with a complex, nutty malt flavor true to its Scottish-style heritage, Ridgeline delivers unparalleled character and dimension. A touch of hops rounds out its silky, full body, highlighting Ridgeline’s subtle but engrossing character.

Bottle. Sweet aroma has apple cider and some dark sweet caramel. Orange-amber body, clear with an enormous soapy beige head. Bittersweet taste - very much like that of an ESB - focuses on the sweetish caramel with faint nuttiness in the bg. Touch of orange rind. Tingling mf, medium (but slightly light) body. Light floral hops last beyond the liquid phase. Simple little guy, no major flaws, but much more like a Brown Ale in my book.

Bottle Copper pour with massive beautiful head and decent lacing. Malty aroma with a bit of hop. Flavor follows accordingly. Not too bad, nothing excellent.

Pours a sharp clear amber. Medium head that fades rather quickly. Decent carbonation. Not much action with the aroma and taste. Mild malts. Not bad.

Caramel malt aroma. At first nutty malt taste, then hop bitterness. Very smooth.

From 12-oz bottle, acquired from Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a semi-cloudy amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of light roasted caramel malt, some flowery hops, a touch of roasted walnuts and fruit. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with a more caramel malt than hop bitterness or character. Finish is semi-sweet, with a nutty and fruity malt aftertaste.

Pours copper. Aroma is mild malts with some yeast. Flavor is caramel and nuts. Very plain regular amber. If you don’t like the amber ales, not something you will kick yourself for missing.
