3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I think I have come to realize that I am not a big fan of barrel aging. Not that it's not a good thing to do. Just not a fan.
I am however, a big fan of Great Divide.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amber, golden beer with a three finger high, white, creamy, fluffy head that leaves lacing on the glass.
When I drink the beer the head refuse to get away. It stays in my Dogfish Head Signature IPA glass untill the end and sits there, two finger high at the bottom :)
Nose: Vanilla, peach, orange, pine, hops, toffee, oak and caramel.
Taste: Orange, pine, caramel malt, sweetness and oak.
Soft carbonation, medium body and smooth carbonation.
Quite a different beer i a good way!

bottle. Had a tough time deciding if I liked this IPA. The vanilla seemed overwhelming in the one I had. Perhaps an acquired taste. Big fan of Great Divide so I’ll try again before I dismiss completely

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle into pint glass. Not as much IPA aroma on the front. Color is a hazy copper. Light head. Definitely get sweetness that doesn’t accompany many IPAs. Pine towards the middle and end. An interesting combination of flavors with maybe a hint of vanilla. Worth a try.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber with an off white head. Piney hop flavor, with a bitter woody aftertaste. Fairly muted overall. Not one I would recommend.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Bit of an explosion at first, but then this settled quite nicely into a firm, solid amber beer. The aroma is almost tropical, but this drinks with a more pine-driven profile, followed by a quite distinct woody finish, extremely dry and cloying. Excellent. (#5370, 12/15/2013)

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy amber pour substantial light tan fluff. Smells pine sappy peachy hoppy oak. Substantial malt flavor. Seems like a british style ipa: less bitter than american ipa, noticeable malt. A bit too much postage stamps flavor. wood spice is nice.

Good taste with IPA bite. Doesn't have taste of oak barrel. Cannot taste the caramel, vanilla, pine, or citrus.

Maybe, I just had too high of expectations. Perhaps, this beer was neglected in its storage prior to delivery...? But, I was not all together impressed.
Nice nose, though, nothing super stand out on the palate. Some good oak notes. The hops overshadowed by this and an overwhelming bitterness mid palate.
