Rumble IPA is an American IPA with subtle nuance. Brewed with heavy-handed additions of Pacific Northwest hops, this beer is gently aged on French and American oak resulting in a wonderful balance of bitterness, caramel sweetness, vanilla, and undertones of pine and citrus.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. An oak aged ipa, not a great idea, at least this attempt...Pour light brown, watery and clear, a nice light tan head that has great retention, light lacing...Aroma is all malt and way too sweet. A malty ipa to start (apparently) and the oak aging just enhances that. Vanilla and caramel dominant the nose, its ok in doses but too much and you get an overload of the senses...The taste carries over all the sweetness and makes it undrinkable. No oak shows. I couldn’t drink more than half the bottle. Interesting idea but dry hop the hell out of this after barrel aging and you might be on to something.

The beer has an interesting taste and smell. For an IPA, it smells more of malt than hops. The wood neutralizes the hoppiness. Tastes of strawberry and wood.

On Tap at Uptown Brothers, Denver 16/09/2010 Hoppy aroma. Bronze coloured fruity and hoppy pine flavour with a hint of dryness in a bitter and nutty malt finish.

Bottle, pours dark orange with thin, resilient head. Hazy, unfiltered. Nose at first is a good deal of hops, orange, tangerine and a little bit of spruce, but as it warms the oak starts to cut through. Same with the taste: about a third of the way through, some wonderful oaky vanilla tones begin to peek out. Very clean finish, very balanced.

Sampled from a 12oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with some small floaters and a small soapy orange-beige head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweetish and piney with light grapefruit and a hint of caramel. The flavor was tangy with toasted caramel, brown sugar, piney hops and a sour off undertone. The finish was long with pine and almost rancid caramel. Thick body and fairly undercarbonated. There was potential here but something went off the tracks. Ok.

I usually don’t like Oak adging, but this level though low adds to the beer instead of displacing it, subtile under mostly bitter hops, the oak lingers. Only a hint of whiskey in the fragrance, modest head but nice lacing over the hazy honey color

Another awesome oak ages IPA, great divide as mastered aging bitterness of west coast hops in oak. Very nicely balanced and highly drinkable, in my favorite go to rotation

From a bottle poured an amber color with a good amount of head. Nice oakey hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

Bomber from Capone’s. Pours turbid ruddy caramel brown with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is resiny hops, caramel malt, oak, and vanilla. Tastes caramel malty, hoppy, resiny, with a rich flavor, solid but well integrated notes of oak and vanilla, and a nice complexity. This one is a standout.

Pours a cloudy amber with a lot of sediment floating around. Aroma is predominantly sweet oak with just a hint of citrus hidden beneath. Flavor is well-layered with elements of semi-sweet oak, citrus and pine hops, and a mild bitterness. This is a very flavorful, but at the same time rather mellow and drinkable beer.
