COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rumble IPA is an American IPA with subtle nuance. Brewed with heavy-handed additions of Pacific Northwest hops, this beer is gently aged on French and American oak resulting in a wonderful balance of bitterness, caramel sweetness, vanilla, and undertones of pine and citrus.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (caramel), moderately hoppy (apricot, grapefruit, resin), with notes of raw wood, dried mango, candy sugar, vanilla. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic, lightly astringent. The nose is reasonably nice, albeit on the soft side for an American IPA (which although uncharacteristic is much more to my liking than simplistic resin bombs). As with most of their oak-chipped affairs, though, the wood note is rather raw and crude. Too syrupy-sticky sweet in the mouth to be very enjoyable to drink.

2012-05-08. Lightly hazy orange body, small beige head. 3+ Mild aroma, green leafy vegetation. Flavour is similar, leafy earthy hops, light fruit is vaguely apricot like and has muted woody undertones. Light resiny quality, modest bitterness throughout grows slowly as the glass goes on, as does the mild woody character, which I do not entirely care for. 6+ Average plus palate has pleasantly soft carbonation. Less fruity and citrusy than my preference, possibly showing a bit of age? Just okay.Bottle from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo

Dark amber pour with a good white head and lacing. Rumble erupts with classic IPA aromas. Citrus fruit, caramel, hops, pine, oak, malt & floral. Hoppy bitterness opens up proceedings but mellows beautifully to sweet caramel, vanilla and citrus fruit. Low carbonation and coats the mouth nicely. A great example of the style from Great Divide. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an orange amber with a large lasting beige head, good lacing to the end. Aroma and Taste of dark caramel malt, earthy piney hops, yeast, some grapefruit and a bit of subtle oaky wood notes in the flavor. A medium to full body with a smooth mouth feel and moderate carbonation. Finish is sweet dark caramel malt, yeast, earthy piney hops on the end with some slight flavor of lingering oak flavor. This brew seems to be well balanced between the dark malts and the subtle hops. Overall a very good and enjoyable brew. nicely done.

Shared a bottle with Suds MacDuff. yellow gold with white foam. Is a very big beer, has a kick to it. Honey and booze, this is way to bitter for me, but Suds seemed to enjoy a lot more than me. Wish the yeast would come through more. stinky dog!

Bottle @ home thx to benzai! A big and creamy off-white head on top of a hazy, deep golden to orange colour. Smells like lovely bitter hops, fruity, sweet and fresh. Tastes pine, apricot, grapefruit, hops, bitter, refreshing. Great IPA! Great carbo, medium to full body. Lasting taste.

355ml Bottle - Amber with a foamy head. Pine, oak, toffee and grapefruit in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with notes of grapefruit, pine, toffee and dried apricot. The oak notes are noticeable, but not overwhelming, like in some similar aged beers, and the hops are nicely balanced as a result.

Unusual mix of wood and vanilla, a lot going on and I am just not sure it works for me. Really thought I would like it, but with a weak aroma as well it has to be an also ran for me.

12 oz bottle: Pours medium copper color with a thin white head that sticks around the edges. Loads of suspended sediment and yeast. Aroma is nice spruce and citrus hop with a slight oak undertone. Taste is bright citrus hops with a nice malt body to balance. Slight oak undertones but not overwhelming. Palats is a bit acrid on the finish, slight pucker factor. Very good overall but nothing out of the ordinary for the style.

From notes: Poured hazy orange-amber, with a small off-white head. Nice, citrusy hops aroma with an undertone of vanilla. Nice amount of body, with a slight thickness to it. Flavor of citrusy hops. Brief finish with a note of vanilla and a slight astringency. Slightly sweet malt note in the background.
