Rumble IPA is an American IPA with subtle nuance. Brewed with heavy-handed additions of Pacific Northwest hops, this beer is gently aged on French and American oak resulting in a wonderful balance of bitterness, caramel sweetness, vanilla, and undertones of pine and citrus.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into pint glass, a mostly-clear deep amber colour with moderate beige foam. Fairly typical APA/A-IPA traits: malty, rich caramel sweetness, slightly bready and toasty, with loads of citrusy and resiny hops. A bit coarser and muskier than most, with only the slightest trace of the advertised wood-aging. Very subtle oak tannins, vanilla, a little mushy oxidation. Medium body and carbonation, bittersweet aftertaste. Decent enough and drinkable but not nearly as complex as I’d hoped.

on tap at Dog & Bull in Croydon - nice orangey color. Hoppy aroma. Nice hop flavor that could use a little sweetness. You can pick up the oak flavor from the oak aged barrels.

Pours copper orange with a white head. Head retention is ok. AROMA: malty, caramel, pine, citrus, herbs, vanilla, woody, light tropical fruit, spice, herbal hops and light peppercorns. TASTE: spice, caramel, pine, citrus, herbs, vanilla, woody, hop bitterness, lightly boozy, peppercorns and light cinnamon. AFTER TASTE: spice, caramel, woody, vanilla and pine/hop bitterness with an oily rich finish.

Pours dark, opaque honey golden-brown with a nice buff head. Aroma is hoppy and woody with a malty undertone and a citrus hint. Flavor has woody hop, orange, and malty tones, tasty if not spectacular. Mouthfeel has firm, viscous body and strong fizz. Get ready to rumble.

Pours an opaque, unfiltered amber, pretty frothy head, lots of lacing. Oak, vanilla, caramel on the nose. Creamy mouthfeel. Hoppy bitterness offset by sweetness from vanilla, caramel, toffee notes. Bitter at the front; sweet and smooth at the back. A really enjoyable IPA. A solid, drinkable beer.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin head that dissipates quickly. Fairly bitter with a dry finish. A decent beer.

Draft at Chuck’s. Clear amber pour with frothy head. Aroma: caramel, steeped grains; oak, citrus, and vanilla meets urinal cake. Moderately sweet, light citrus with restrained but perceptible bitterness. Creamy texture, medium body. Overall: interesting take for sure, but the urinal cake kills it for me.

Two pints at the Viewhouse. I’m weary of aged IPAs, but Great Divide has nailed it. Plenty of citrus hops are in the nose with tasteful okay sweetness for balance. No oxidized hop quality is noted. The palate is smooth and medium full. The oak and malts are a nice compliment to the assertive hops. Very tasty.

Hoppy scents and fruit right off the bat, with a slightly dark brown color. Great citrus hops flavors with a nice after taste.
