3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled on June 27, 2012. Pours tan amber hue with small off white head with fair retention. Lacing coats the glass. Nose is sublte but features caramel, pine, light oak, an a large quaff of yeast. Taste trends toward malt and caramel. The oak adds a bit of vanilla. The bitterness does balance eventually and the finish is all citrus. Medium bodied.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy amber pour substantial light tan fluff. Smells pine sappy peachy hoppy oak. Substantial malt flavor. Seems like a british style ipa: less bitter than american ipa, noticeable malt. A bit too much postage stamps flavor. wood spice is nice.

Good taste with IPA bite. Doesn't have taste of oak barrel. Cannot taste the caramel, vanilla, pine, or citrus.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Maybe, I just had too high of expectations. Perhaps, this beer was neglected in its storage prior to delivery...? But, I was not all together impressed.
Nice nose, though, nothing super stand out on the palate. Some good oak notes. The hops overshadowed by this and an overwhelming bitterness mid palate.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Clear gold with a frothy white head. Wet hop aroma with a thick and creamy full body and feel. Sweet notes among the hops that are brought in from the oak. It does strike a great balance of hops and yet not so in your face. Pretty nice.

Bottle. Not feeling this one, not good. Yeah I can taste some oak, but so what? Vanilla in the finish but little bitterness. The whole thing gives me a headache, Iím out.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Amber body with nice white, quickly fading head and some lacing. Sweet vanilla and funky hops, bread aroma. Taste is oaky, sweet with some bitterness. A hoppy Innis and Gunn. Not bad IPA.
