4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Amazing beer. Iím a huge IPA fan as well as Oak Aged beers. This is basically an Oak Aged Titan to my tastes.....which is a GREAT thing! It has a great warm flavor. Hoppy start with a taste of vanilla - but itís subtle. The finish gets that oak thing going. Just a SUPER beer! I highly recommend trying this if you dig IPAs or Oak Aged beers! One of my favorite craft brew companies as well!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy copper-golden with an antique white head. Pungent aroma. Caramel malt, citrus, oak, and oaky vanilla. Soft, nearly cottony mouthfeel. A lot of vanilla flavor got picked up from the oak. Caramel malt comes through prominently as well and sweetens the beer to balance the bitter and citrus contribution of the hop profile.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Mellow citrus and pine aroma. Hazy copper body with sediment floating around. Topped with a thin skim coat off-white head. Bold bitter bite with a citrusy malt taste. Has a little zest but finishes on the cleaner side. It has a style that is neither west coast, east coast or English IPA for that matter. In other words it has a more distinct taste than most in this category.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. This is a nice heavy IPA with a slightly softer edge which is a result of the wood aging i assume.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a dark, cloudy, unfiltered amber orange color. It has little white flakes of something floating around. Creamy white thick head with insane lacing. Wow! Staring at the bottom of the glass, it looks like dandruff, but nevermind that.
I took a sniff when I opened the bottle and it was strong vanilla from the get go. But from the glass, I smell hops. Not quite as strongly as most IPAs, but very strong. Pine, orange zest. But the oak, itís there. Itís earthy citrus and earthy woody too. Not so much vanilla from the glass.
Taste is hop forward. Not so much malt, not so much sweet. The vanilla comes through at the end, and a little more sweetness would help bring out the vanilla more. But still, itís quite good to taste. I taste the orange zest, but not so much caramel. The earthy oak makes it interesting.
Mouthfeel is a little watery for such a high abv beer. Itís dry. But for an IPA itís extremely drinkable. Itís very clean, and only slightly bitter finish.
Overall, this is a really good IPA. Itís different, and itís tasty. My glass is almost empty and thereís all kinds of lacing on the glass. I gave it a swirl and it conjured up another round of huge thick head. Itís not as bitter as most IPAs, but if it were just a touch sweeter, weíre talking the perfect IPA here.
