Commercial Description:
Looking for something a little different? Brewed with rice and barley malts, Samurai is an easy drinking, unfiltered ale that changes the status quo for unfiltered beers. The addition of rice gives Samurai a slightly fruity, crisp, refreshing and clean taste. This is definitely not your everyday unfiltered beer.

bright yellow gold with a thick sticky head. flavor is yeasty and sweet, but kind of bland like a watery golden ale. palette is clean and bright. nice alternative if not in mood for a lager or hefe, but not particularly exciting.

Poured a really lovely light pale color with a big generous "whipped egg white" foam head. Aroma was kind of sharp and crisp. Maybe a little bit of spice? This one was hard to place. Flavor was also very crisp. The carbonation brought some things to the forefront, but I’m not sure if I was biased from knowing that rice was used in the brewing, but all I could pick up was Rice Krispies. Sort of the same light puffy crisp flavor you get with a bowl of cereal. I kept expecting it to snap crackle and pop at me. Not bad, but not good either. Maybe revisit on a hot summer day.

Smells quite sweet, slightly fruity fragrance to it. Taste is slightly bitter hops, quite watery and lacking in flavor overall. Not as bad as I was expecting from a rice beer, but nothing special either.

Lightly smoky, tart, funky ale aroma. Fair label (improved since the Big Red Ball picture that is displayed as I write this,) cloudy light honey gold, big white head, flocculent white sediment. Starchy APA flavor, with a green nut/grassy quality and astringent finish. Pedestrian. Liquor Loft.

Drinkable but unspectacular. Slightly fruity flavor, a tad thin with high carbonation.

Hazy yellow with some particulate and massive billowing white head. Aroma of lemon citrus and antiseptic. Flavor is bitter lemon and bandaids. Medium thin body with very high carbonation and a biitter lemon finish. Nearly identical to your average hefewiezen, but with rice instead of wheat.

Pours hazy pale gold into a shaker. Fluffy bright white head top hats and and meringues as it very slowly recedes. Lemon aromas. Full wheat and highly carbonated. Sour lemon finish.

Overwhelming yeast and rice smell with an overly yeasted flavor and mild fruit notes. Total drain pour for me.
