georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light hazy yellow with a thin white head. Aroma was faint but fruity - orange, tangerine. Taste was faint as well, not much else there. Dry and bubbly on the palate. merlin48 (509), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Apr 21, 2008 Hazt straw body has an immense white head that laces well. Aroma is muted. Some spicy and floral hops and faint bready malt. Taste has a floral hop bitterness that is balanced by a bready malt sweetness that reminds me of Rice Krispies. Not bad for style but not one I would seek out anytime soon. Bungalo22 (326), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Apr 20, 2008 Very cloudy golden yellow on the pour with a small head. Tasted a bit sweet and smooth. rodneykm (109), Westminster, South Carolina, USA Apr 19, 2008 Not too bad actually. light goldish type color, didnt have much of a head. Very very easy to drink - will definitely give it another try. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Apr 18, 2008 Hazy light gold with a tiny, thin white head. Sweet, lagery aroma. Flavor is kind of the same. Crisp and somewhat refreshing, but really a letdown. More of a Beverly Hills Ninja than a samurai. Probably my least favorite of the Great Divide beers. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 17, 2008 Bottle from Cellars Larpenteur, St. Paul. Fresh, aleish aroma that is not unlike a Kolsch. Hazy, light gold with a ring of white head. No lace to speak of and head is mostly diminished. Light and crisp with more flavor than you’d expect from a golden ale/blond ale. However, this is Great Divide, so I shouldn’t be surprised when they take a style to the next level. Lightly hopped. A solid session ale that is underrated, although overpriced at Cellars at $9.29 for 6 or $1.99 for a single. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia Apr 14, 2008 Hazy, yellow-gold-orange, with lots of sediment, huge foamy white head. Looks like soup. Smells like vitamins, sweet, band aids, coriander, pineapple and lemon. Taste is sweet, tart, grapefruit. Lots of carbonation, bitter, drying hydrogen-peroxide ending. Not really sure if I’m drinking a beer or not. ElJefe (553), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 13, 2008 Pale, hazy straw colored with a thick, fluffy white head. Lightly floral nose with a slight touch of melon. Fruity flavor (pear, mostly), combined with a slight graininess anmd a zesty yeast character. Subtle hops in the finish. Nice smooth, light carbonation. A nice lawnmower beer for the dog days of summer, I enjoyed this one.
