like endless field of golden hay avast across the country.... anyway its a sub-par beer, with semi bland malts and not too good overall flavor.

Bottle: Pours a pale gold with little head.Smells of macro swill somewhat grassy.Taste is the best part of this beer by no means outstanding but suprising crisp and clean.Palate is medium bodied. All and all a solid beer considering the style.

I am all for rice beers and this is a good one. Tastes very smooth and feels good on the palate much like rye beers. It didn’t have an overwhelming flavor like some great divides. Very subtle and very good.

Bottle 0.355 l from Brooklyn. Cloudy yellow, minimal head, some yeasty particles on bottom. Strong yeasty, doughy and citric nose with a malty background. Flavor has orange peel with sweetish maltiness and quite stingy bitter aftertaste. A mixed bag. Flavorful, fruity and interesting, but the afteraste feels a bit stingy. Lot of stuff going on and far from subtle, as often the case with US brews.

12 oz. brown bottle, notched bottling date along the right side of the label (month September, 4th week), sampled in a pint glass. Poured an unfiltered cloudy golden pale yellow with a bright white head of creamy, sudsy foam. Decent head retention and a light amount of ringed laced sticking. The aroma has a nice lemony citric smell with traces of orange zest. Not much in the way of maltiness, but then I wasn’t expecting any, just a hints of sweet malts and powdery flour. At the edges is a very light grassiness. Ample carbonation gives the moderate body a smoothly crisp feeling in the mouth, for an ale with rice as an ingredient, this has an well rounded mouthfeel. The hops shine in the taste, lemony and orangey, with a peppery spiciness coming out in the finish. In the middle is a subtle, mildly tart green apple and pear fruitiness. The barley and rice mix provides a restrained sweetness, complimenting, but not interfering with the hop flavors. Finishes crisp and dry with a nice cutting spicy bitterness. I thought this was a successfully designed rice ale by Great Divide, light and refreshing, a good beer to start the night with.

12 oz. bottle purchased at D’s Six Pax. Pours hazy corn gold, white head. Aroma is sweet malt, grass, grain, rice (?). Flavor is grassy, bitter hops, wheaty. I can’t really detect the rice, perhaps it is part of the sweet element. The beer is nicely balanced between bitter and sweet.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a semi-clear golden pale yellow brew with a thin and fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a thin white ring and no lacing. Aroma of light bready malt, some flowery hops, a touch of pear fruit and some herbs. Taste is light bodied, light carbonation with flavors of white bread malt, some fruity pear character, and floral hops. Finish is light, semi-sweet fruity with some pear aftertaste.

Appearance: Pours a clear, yellow body with a thin, wispy white head. Smell: Very lightly malty, sweetish aroma with notes of flowers, sake, and white bread. Taste: Well, it’s just what the aroma would have you expect of the taste. Light, sake-like fruity flavor with a drop of honey sweetness. Floral and bready hints. No more than a light bitterness. Finishes crisp and clean. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: It definitely would make for fine, summertime drinking and wasn’t too bad on a grimey day in mid-December, either.
