Looking for something a little different? Brewed with rice and barley malts, Samurai is an easy drinking, unfiltered ale that changes the status quo for unfiltered beers. The addition of rice gives Samurai a slightly fruity, crisp, refreshing and clean taste. This is definitely not your everyday unfiltered beer.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Slightly hazy, pale golden with a tall and lively, white head leaving some lacework. A little fruity, lightly perfumy nose with a whiff of yeast. Medium body, fresh fruity and rather yeasty. The finish is dry. Quite a refreshing beer really - the yeastiness makes it rather differet from British Golden Ales. 080408

9th October 2008. Bottle at the brewery bar. Hazy gold beer. Soft palate but has good carbonation. Lagerish gold ale. Pretty standard stuff and hard to get excited about.

Bottle from Utobeer. It’s a decent blond ale. Just a touch of rice on aroma. Some decent lemon and grapefruit hop on the finish. Quite drinkable, but not very exciting.

Bottle. Hazy, yellowish golden body with a white head. The aroma is a blend of malt and fruit, and that goes for the flavor too. Some bitterness as well in the flavor. The mouthfeel is almost watery. Judging from my description, it may sound as a really boring beer, but it isn’t. Ok, maybe a bit boring, but with a nice taste and quenching powers I could easily down a few if that was the choice.
