Commercial Description:
Looking for something a little different? Brewed with rice and barley malts, Samurai is an easy drinking, unfiltered ale that changes the status quo for unfiltered beers. The addition of rice gives Samurai a slightly fruity, crisp, refreshing and clean taste. This is definitely not your everyday unfiltered beer.

golden color w/ a quick to dissapate white head w/ some nice lacing. Very small aroma light grain and malt maybe. palate coats well but to thin. Light bitter flavor w/ a tiny carmel and some grass and rice. Nothing special here.. reminds me to much of bud. Sampled at the brewery during GABF

sampled at brewery. Lightly hazy straw color. Aroma is light malts and grains. Taste is light sweet malts and grain up front with a crisp dry finish. not a bad summertime session beer.

Crisp, lightly cloudy, golden wheat colored pint with a silk top 1/3" thick. Well carbonated. Smooth easy drinking flavor that I assumed was wheat, but must have been the rice. Aroma, lightly wheaty. A solid, refreshing summer ale.

Light hazed gold, creamy white head. Delicate fruity nose with touches of honey and rice crackers. Flavor held further notes of honey rice and touches of sweet dried fruitiness. Light bodied, prickly carbonation, dry, crisp, soft ricey bittersweet finish. A summer brew that’s damn near chuggable on the beach....

On draft at the brewery: Poured cloudy yellow with a full white head. Aroma is somewhat grainy and cereal-like. Mild sweetness in the flavor with more cereal notes and mild hops. A decent beer nevertheless.

Bottle. Pours a reallylight yellow;almost hoegaardenish. In terms of aroma there really wasn’t much. Light malts & Im pretty sure rice has little aroma. Decent mouth feel some light fruitiness. Clean & easy drinking but unspectacular as it was probably meant to be

tap at the brewery. uhhh, i had to double check this with brian dunn, but they are serious with this. i guess it does fit a whole in their beer lineup. poured hazed whitish with a thick cream head. not much aroma, just a tad lemon grass. taste is clean but empty. not unsatisfying, but neutral. some yarn like flavor to this.
