Commercial Description:
Looking for something a little different? Brewed with rice and barley malts, Samurai is an easy drinking, unfiltered ale that changes the status quo for unfiltered beers. The addition of rice gives Samurai a slightly fruity, crisp, refreshing and clean taste. This is definitely not your everyday unfiltered beer.

Moderate bitterness, light aroma, an inch of foam all in one bottle of Samurai. It did go well with Nathan’s hot dogs and Final Four basketball.

Nopt really that ’’different’’. Certainly clean and crisp (impact of rice?). Otherwise watery and unfulfilling. Bottle looks nice. Is that worth any points?

Draft...Mid-GABF ’06, Great Divide Open House, Denver... Hazy golden ale with a large, frothy, white head. Decent retention. Meek floral aroma and grainy flavor. Mild sweetness and tanginess with a gentle hop bite. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Crisp, clean finish.

Light hazy golden body with mid sized bubbly head. Aroma is grainy and slightly chalky. Flavour is grainy with a dry rice texture. Interesting flavour.

Hazy light gold with a tiny, thin white head. Sweet, lagery aroma. Flavor is kind of the same. Crisp and somewhat refreshing, but really a letdown. More of a Beverly Hills Ninja than a samurai. Probably my least favorite of the Great Divide beers.

Very mild aroma is lightly sweet with some herbal hop notes apparent. Clear golden body with a low but lasting white head that recedes to ring with some lace. Light sweet flavour has some banana esters and a lingering musty honey sweetness. Lemony citrus note becomes more apparent as it warms. Light body with fair carbonation. Sampled on tap at Breckenridge.

Pours a pale hazy yellow with a thick frothy white head. The aroma smells like cereal. Flavor shows light cereal and a slightly harsh bite. Don’t know where that comes from. The palate is light and crisp. Easy to drink.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very light, faded yellow, big fluffy head. Grainy and earthy aroma. Flavor is rice, sour citrus with sublte hints of vanilla. Long bitter finish and lively carbonated.
