IlanMan (472), Winona, Minnesota, USA Apr 30, 2008 Pour is dark with very full and lasting tan head. Aroma was of strong vanilla, chocolate, and very light dark fruit notes. Taste was light chocolate finishing strong with more vanilla. This was a bit over carbonated for a porter and a bit sweet. Still not bad but probably will find a better porter for next time.
craftycarl21 (125), USA Jul 26, 2008 pours a thin black/dark brown with a small head, ok lacing. aroma of coffee, some very minor sweetness, nothing earth shattering. Palate is very weak, flavor is coffee with not much else- good, but considering others that great divide offers, somewhat disappointing. still a good beer to drink though. Jblauvs (118), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jul 26, 2008 deep coffee brown, coffee and dark fruit aromas. pruney, coffee tastes, but palate is weak, watery mouthfeel. NJJereme (88), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Jul 22, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours dark coffee color with a light whitish-tan head. Predominant flavor is dark chocolate with a coffee finish and a hint of malt. Light to medium- bodied. Pretty decent. afireinside96 (348), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2008 12oz bottle served in an English pint glass. Pours deep brown with a thin tan head. Smells of cocoa powder and coffee. Rich roasted character with a lot of coffee character. Smooth with slightly noticeable carbonation. A pretty good porter. lb4lb (1281), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 19, 2008 Updated: Jul 20, 2008Bottle as an extra in trade with GMCC2181. Thanks!!
Pours a nice black color with a medium to short lived beige head. Smell is roasty, a bit of coffee and some light cardboard like malt. Taste is lighty bitter and nicely roasty but a bit of stale-ish cardboard like flavor in there too. Medium to very slightly full body and normal carbonation. Overall, very drinkable and a decent porter with a nice roasty bitter finish.
