3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 GAManiac (1906) - Atlanta, USA - SEP 12, 2008
Pours a deep mahogany with a thin off-white head that showed decent retention and a hint of lacing. The aroma was nice on this beer with a really strong fresh ground coffee smell on top of the dark roasted malts. There is also chocolate hints in the nose as well. The taste let me down a little after the smell, with a slightly unpleasant bitterness that overpowers the underlying roasted malt and coffee tastes. The mouthfeel is decent and fairly dry with the aforementioned bitterness. This one smelled great and tasted OK. Not one of my favorites from Great Divide.

Great porter, though not particularly robust. Coffee dominates with some chocolate. Toasty aroma. Pours dark brown with a thick brown head.

Pours dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma has some chalky cocoa, light roastiness, and very mild dark fruit. Flavor has roasty malts, a hint of peat, and some tea notes...odd and very faint shellfish note. Mouthfeel is medium and silky and the finish is roasty/faintly peaty and mildly burnt.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 zestytaco (34) - Niceville, Florida, USA - DEC 27, 2011
Pours a very dark brown with faint hues of red and very little head. A little light on the nose with typical porter scents of coffee and chocolate. The taste of smokey malts starts this brew out but that taste quickly fades to a dryness in the end. Not a bad porter.

Nice porter. Really enjoyed this. Roasty, malty, and easy to drink. Small notes of coffee.

Good strong porter. I thoroughly enjoyed this brew. I heard great divide will no longer be distributing beer where I live. Bummer they will be missed.

A - Pours a fairly dark brown-black color wit ha finger of frothy tan head atop. The head fades slowly down to a thick ring leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of roasted caramel and coffee and some sweet chocolate. There is even some noticeable hops in the background.
T - Starts off with lots of roasted coffee and caramel flavor with a bit of hop in the background. Bit of wood as well. Through the middle, some chocolate flavor and stronger roasted flavors come through. The finish is a mix of coffee and dark chocolate that lingers for a while.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall smooth and even a bit creamy. The roasted flavors really fill the mouth nicely and the coffee flavor that lingers is very pleasant.
D - Very drinkable. The coffee and chocolate flavors mix together very nicely. The hop addition is also mixes in really well.

The beer pours a light black, showing brown in the light, with a very disappointing light tan head. It raises maybe half a finger but is gone quickly leaving a disappointing light soapy film.
The aroma is pretty subtle, I’d like it to be a little more assertive. What presents itself is mostly coffee a total one noter, sadly.
The taste is ALL COFFEE, where’d that come from. Way to much coffee and nothing else. I’m can’t believe this isn’t a coffee stout. Boring and no complexity.
The feel is great, totally coasting and lasting.

Thanks bro! Pours silky brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of oats and funk, with some molasses. Roasted oatmeal taste that fades into coffee and bitter chocolate. Mellow and slightly carbonated, with a lighter body. Great aroma, but the taste is lacking intensity and body. Could be great with a little work.
