COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great Divide brews Titan IPA for hop disciples -- independent beer drinkers seeking out robust, flavorful beers characterized by their abundance of hops, flavor, aroma and bitterness. As a big aggressively-hopped India Pale Ale, Titan IPA fills this bill -- beginning with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishing with a rich, malty sweetness that is carefully balanced with crisp hop bitterness. 65 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottled: Golden coloured. Ligth beige medium sized head. Hoppy and light fruity aroma. Is smooth and balanced. Is fresh and hoppy in the flavour. Fruitnotes are present. Easy to drink and ends up in a nice balanced bitterness. Good one. Thanks Martin and Jacob for sharing.

T’sall right. Had it as Maverick and now as Titan. Can’t say I recall the earlier if there was any difference. Plenty of hops to please, but could enjoy a tad more heft in the malt. Nice stuff - need to have another ....

Bottle: (Alias Maverick IPA 2003 Series) Smell like your basic IPA with citrus and grapefruit aromas. A little stronger in the citrus than grapefruit. Pours a nice hazy amber with a nice white head and good retention. Big hoppy taste with grapefruit and big pine and slight citrus finish. Moderate bitter aftertaste. Not a whole lot of malt. A little more sweetness would improve the balance. Decent IPA, but the balance could be better.

Not too sure why this is so highly rated. IMO a run-of-the mill (if well-made) IPA with standard grapefruit/pine hops balancing caramely, toasty malts. The body is full and flavorful, but I’ve had this beer in various incarnations by a variety of brewers. IPAs can be boring, and I think this belongs in that category, even though it’s a well-done boringness.

Wonderful copper color, decent foam head on it as well. The aroma is absolutely wonderful. Rich floral and citrus notes. The flavor is a somewhat nutty, but clearlt an IPA.

Beautiful, bright, glorious orange-toned coloration, fine helping of bubbling froth atop, dotted, lacey. Aroma: fresh and hoppy, very piney, like the needles have gotten lodged in your nostrils, and still fruitiness, too, peach, apricot, pineapple, quite a delectable bouquet, so far. Taste: AH!, big, brash, brilliantly bitter dance on the plate right off the bat, MMMM!, really, the hops are still fresh, still vibrant, doing a fandango around the senses, leaving sweet, tasty, juicy hoppiness all around. Oh, this is fiercely delicious stuff, a hophead’s delight. Medium to full body, long, bitter, yet sweet, candy-ish finish, excellent texture. These hops never ever quit, they’re all over the place. Only 60 IBUs, only 6.8%ABV? I don’t believe it! This IPA is a never-ending delight, just issuing forth everything you’d want in a super-hoppy brew! I wish, truly, that I had more than this piddling little 22 oz. bottle at my disposal.

Cloudy amber body, thin white head that leaves tons of lacing. Hoppy aroma, has resinous grapefruit rind along with slightly floral/musty caramel sweetness. The flavor features similar characteristics, it starts with bright, crisp grapefruit hops, earth, and dry wheat bread and finishes with a dry sprucy hops. This IPA is on the dry side, with intense and crisp hops. There’s a good malt backbone, but it takes a backseat to the hearty hops.

Don’t let the other reviews steer you wrong. This beer is hoppy. It’s not overwhelming though. There’s a nice, clean, crisp feel to it. It has very nice malt flavor as well. It just doesn’t leave you with the bitterness of some other double IPA’s. Overall, I highly recommend this brew.
