COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great Divide brews Titan IPA for hop disciples -- independent beer drinkers seeking out robust, flavorful beers characterized by their abundance of hops, flavor, aroma and bitterness. As a big aggressively-hopped India Pale Ale, Titan IPA fills this bill -- beginning with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishing with a rich, malty sweetness that is carefully balanced with crisp hop bitterness. 65 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2005 From a bottle, pours a slightly cloudy orangey-gold with a decent eggshell head. Great lacing. Lots of pine in the aroma. Taste-wise, piney-citrusy hops come to the forefront immediately though there is a fairly substantial malt background in there. Very smooth mouth feel, medium-bodied. Excellent.

Wonderfull IPA in all respects. One of my favorites. Great big bitter hop bite. Smells and looks great. Love the Pine and Grapefruit components. Very drinkable...in quantities.

A lightly-hazed, amber/orange with lively carbonation and an average-sized & frothy, off-white head. Pleasant aromas were sweet citrus, grapefruit and orange, with honey and light notes of malt and alcohol. Moderately-to-heavily hopcit bitterness in flavor with caramel malt at the center. Mouthfeel was both oily and syrupy... slick, as it were.

I dream of a super hoppy perfect IPA and this one comes close. Aroma is pine/citrus/fruity. Taste is similiar. A bitter aftertaste and slightly dry. Strong hop brew. Will have to get this again someday.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2006 Wow, what an IPA. It has the perfect look. Dark orange/brown hazy color which is not transparent. A frothy generous head with an orange hue. Aroma of heavy rich malt and sweet piney apricot hops. It tastes like it smells with all the rich malt character coming through that the smell hinted at. Intense grapefruit hop flavor perfectly balances the rich sweet malt character. The palate is thick, making the flavor linger in the mouth. Itensely carbonated by a fine carbonation that tickels the tongue. I like!

Poured a nearly perfect golden brown with a bubbly white head. Citrusy/pine aroma. Taste... well, thatís where it lost me. I suppose when making an IPA, a brewer can go towards citrus, or towards pine. This one is towards pine. Which, if I want pine, Iíll suck on a 2x4, thanks. Iíve come to realize, I like citrusy IPAís. This one isnít as piney as Avery IPA (ick), and the appearance and aroma were good, but it really didnít do it for me.

I first tasted this a while ago from a bomber...really good. I thing the double is better but glad to see the Titan in a six pack now. This is a solid IPA. Head is off white and lasting. Light red color and crystal clear. Aroma is a good along with good balance between hops and malt... more malty. Taste of pine initially (what kind of Hops do that?) and malt follows. You are left with a nice hop bitterness that lingers for a while.

Clear copper color with a thin white head. Excellent aroma and flavor of piney and citrusey hops with caramel. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. This is one great IPA, I look forward to tasting their Hercules Double IPA.

Rich amber body. The head sticks to the side of the glass. The flavor is, umÖ.wellÖ.titanic. Very malty-sweet, extraordinarily hoppy-bitter. IPAs arenít really my thing, but I could definitely see taking another taste of this one. Yes, I do believe that this one represents the style well.
