Bottle. Cloudy, orange/gold pour. Floral and citrus notes on the pour. A mellowed hoppiness, but definately an IPA. Refreshing and biting, very pleasent and balanced. Thanks Beervana for the bottle.

Golden color. Nice hoppy aroma, fruity. Very good flavor, a lot of fruity hop at first (grapefruit), then giving way to a strong and sweetish toffee; good body strength. Very good.

Copper color. Sweet caramel aroma, with light fruity hop. Good round body, sweet caramel flavor, sweet toffee, very powerful hopping, quite resiny and lightly fruity. Very good.

Hazy orange color. Nice aroma: oranges, caramel, chocolate, light phenol. Good maltiness and very good resiny bitterness, well aromatic, more mellow than others. Very good!

Pours light amber with a creamy, off-white head, nice lacing. The aroma is citrus, caramel, toffee and cookie dough. Flavor is caramel, oranges, grapefruit and musty. The finish is bitter with a touch of soapiness. Medium-body, smooth texture, soft carbonation.

Solid IPA. Lots of good strong hop flavors/ aromas. Sweet and bitter at the same time. Very smooth drinking, refreshing IPA. I would order this again any day.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
One pint, 6 oz brown bottle purchased from Armanetti’s, Mandelein, IL. Hazy orange ale having a small diminishing white head and spare lacing. Soft carbonation. Good fruity, caramel, and hop aromas. Medium bodied that starts with light sweet malt, citrus, and hop flavors. Finishes with light lingering hop bitterness and malt aftertaste. Well-balanced but skewed towards hoppiness but not extreme. Went well with my lasagna dinner. This is an excellent drinkable hoppy beer.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Red/orange with a foamy off white head that leaves lacing all the way down the glass. Aroma is piney hops and sweet malts. Has a nice lush malt body. Flavor starts as sweet citrus and then changes to grassy hops in the finish. Quite bitter and slightly dry. It tastes closer to a double IPA than a regular.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Excellent aroma of fir-needles and grass, with some sweet notes of malt.
Not much head, but that might be pouring - a deep golden/bronze colour. A lovely combination of sweet and bitter taste, balancing towards the bitter. A very potent, almost burning, hop-experience, great for a hop-lover!
A bit unbalanced in the overall flavour/palate picture.

Pours clear, light amber with a creamy white head. Citrus and pine in the nose. Citrus and pine in the flavor. Body is medium, doesn’t feel like 6.8 %. Bitterness hangs around a while. Pretty good.

2003 Maverick bomber. One of those frustrating beers to pour. A huge creamy head blossoms no matter how gentle you are and takes forever to dissapate. Murky burnt orange color, perfect. Aroma and flavor have both mellowed out with the 3 or so years of age on this bottle. The malts are more discernable with the hops having lost some of their bite while becoming more refined. Still there is a crisp bitter presence throughout the beer more rich than pungent. One of the very best IPA’s, this one could give many a brewers double IPA a run for its money on flavor.
