3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange/amber, medium white head, and a spree of initial bubbles followed by very few. Very piney hop nose, some soapy aromas, woodiness, and some sour yeast. Very nice sweet malt backbone to this beer, much like the other quality IPA I’ve had. Citrus (grapefruit), resin, woody hops in the forefront, and finishes with a dry very satisfying bitterness. Tasty, Tasty, Tasty!!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a semi-clear light red from the bottle with a thick, foamy white head that lasts and stays around the edges. Smells rather hoppy, but not overwhelmingly so. Tastes quite hoppy, not bitter and not too dry. Pretty good.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
2003 Maverick. Pours a typical copper orange with some decent thick off white head. Aroma is lots of piney and citrus hops, and somewhat creamlike. Taste begins quite dry and the hops leave a nice bite on the tongue, but the beer begins to sweeten up towards the end as the large amount of malts in this one show up and take over. Hoppy and floral, with good caramel malt smoothness. Medium bodied. I like this one.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2005 12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep gold with a persisting white head, then BAM!!! A tremendous hop aroma, followed by a spicy hops bite on the palate. Medium malt body and sweetness that doesn’t quite balance the strong hop character. A lingering bitter finish with a surprising undercurrent of faint sweetness. I really like hoppy IPA’s, and this is a good one.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a dark gold color. Light hop aroma with a caramel malt backing. Flavor was the opposite caramel malty with a citrus hop backing. Hop flavors continue through the finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rich amber with a pretty little white head. Nose is nice and hoppy, very piney and citrusy with subtle malt sweet notes. To drink, this beer is a pleasure. Not as fun as their hercules, but good none the less.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Cloudy amber, rich head. Grapefruity hop aroma. Dry and very hoppy. Straightforward and one dimensional, nothing but hop aroma, hop flavour and hop bitterness. The malt just acts like a foundation that is there, but shouldn’t be noticed. After many thousands of different beers simple ones like this should be slagged of by me, but I succumb and offer my soul to the god of hops. No matter how I try I can’t stop myself from loving it.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. Copper coloured, small beeige head. Strong fruity (citrus) aroma. Flavour is hoppy fruitish with some caramellish hints. Also some spices are present in aftertaste, kind of peppery kick.
