COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great Divide brews Titan IPA for hop disciples -- independent beer drinkers seeking out robust, flavorful beers characterized by their abundance of hops, flavor, aroma and bitterness. As a big aggressively-hopped India Pale Ale, Titan IPA fills this bill -- beginning with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishing with a rich, malty sweetness that is carefully balanced with crisp hop bitterness. 65 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

sampled at the brewery during GABF. Pours an amber color w/ a tall off white head w/ some good lacing. Aroma is a nice mix of citrus and pine scents w/ a touch of carmel. Palate is lightly oily and well coated. Flavor is a well blended piney bitter w/ hints of grapefruit and carmel. A well done IPA

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Somewhat hazy orange, small white head. Hoppy dry aroma, some fruits, citrus and grapes. Very hoppy flavor, dry bitterness, grassy and metallic.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2008 (Bottled) Hazy amber color with a small, bubbly head. Deliciously exotic-fruity, aromatic-hoppy nose with a hint of underlying toffee maltiness. Flowery, sweetish and slightly smoky, aromatic-hoppy, piney and exotic-fruity flavor with nicely balancing, somewhat grainy maltiness. Long, lingering, resiny-hoppy finish. Medium-bodied, astringent palate with medium carbonation. A very enjoyable, exotic-fruity IPA with grainy maltiness carrying it nicely. Good stuff!

Pleasant aroma, taste is somewhat aggressive without being overpowering. Bitter hop bite with a lingering aftertaste.

This is a nice IPA, but it isn’t great. It’s easy to drink, oily but not biting on the palate and it has a great piny hop aroma. It finishes slightly acidic with a bit of malt caramel sweetness. It just doesn’t have a hefty enough flavor to be great. Still very good.

Lovely caramel-amber pour with a well-retained clingy white head. Quite a thorough lacing on the glass as this went down. Very pleasant and decently strong aroma of pine forest and grapefruit. Somewhat oily and slick across the palate, with a tacky, bitter caramel finish. Flavors followed the aroma well, but the bitterness was a tad too abrupt toward the back of the mouth. Good IPA.. but not a great IPA.

Nice, thick long lasting lace that just clings. Piney, flowery hops nose light to medium. Bubbles run slow and swirl is pretty thick. Pretty rich and creamy, long lingering hop finish. Decently balanced. 2003 Maverick

Bottle. Orangey ambery pour. Huge piney and citrus (but not too rindy) aroma. Good hopy flavors, with a decent backing of sweet caramel malts, and an undertone of biscuit. Good bitter finish, and a decent mouthfeel. Very well done IPA.
