Great Divide brews Titan IPA for hop disciples -- independent beer drinkers seeking out robust, flavorful beers characterized by their abundance of hops, flavor, aroma and bitterness. As a big aggressively-hopped India Pale Ale, Titan IPA fills this bill -- beginning with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishing with a rich, malty sweetness that is carefully balanced with crisp hop bitterness. 65 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Orange and pine. Intense bittermess with adequate malt to back it up. Reminds me somewhat of the Sierra Nevada winter celebration IPA.

Thanks to BierBauch for this one 12 oz bottle Pours a reddish golden color medium white head. Scent is hoppy, citrus, and pine needles. Taste is piney and quite hoppy with some malt backing. Palate is clean with some bitterness to it. Very nice IPA.

Bottle. Rich copper amber color with a nice off-white head. Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with some sweet malt backing. Nice bitterness, but fades too quickly making it easier to drink.

A good spice aroma with heavy hints of spruice and other pines. Beautiful golden body with a excellent head for an IPA. Very bitter as is to be expected, similar in many respects to Stone’s Runiation.

Bottle. I always had a soft spot for Great Divide so maybe my rating is skewed. However the beer is simply excellent. It pours amber and orange with an off white head. excellent lacing and the head is long lasting. Aromas are complex and powerful, I can discern herbiness, hoppiness and a hint of caramel. The flavor is equally outstanding. It starts with a hint of herbs and a very bitter note. The finish is longlasting and continues on the hoppy bitter theme. This beer is not as flowery as other IPAs it is much more in your face. The body is medium to full with a dry texture.

Pours a clear copper with a medium head. Hoppy aroma, resiny, almost like celery at times. Nice malty backbone. The bitterness is forward but tingly instead of harsh, although it tilts slightly toward harshness. Not a bad IPA. There are better out there, but this one doesn’t disappoint.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2006 This IPA’s aroma could be more out there but the taste is outstanding: fruit, floral, spruce all balanced with a sweet/bitter finish.

Bottle. Dark golden amber with a good sized creamy white head. perfumey resiny hops and mild alcohol presence in the aroma. Oddly resiny flavour profile with a mild leafy celery quality that once notied seems to grow exponentially in both the aroma and flavour as the glass goes one, presumably aided by warming. Smooth but average palate. Very interesting, and not a conventional IPA. I think this was from Probiere.

Cloudy orange color/amber color with a hoppy aroma. Taste is heavy on the hops with a citrusy aftertaste. Decent IPA. Definitely drink this again.
