foduck (300), Denton, Texas, USA May 5, 2007 citrus hops most of the way through. tastes better at room temp. lacking a certain depth in the hop profile. pretty good feeling but moved on to other beer after two of these.
milljam (166), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Dec 1, 2008 Delicious IPA....big on hop aroma and flavor. Piney aromas give way to undulating notes of citrus and fruit.....balanced by a rich malty backbone. Bitterness is not overwhelming and complements beer nicely. killjoy966 (108), USA Dec 1, 2008 Tastes likes it’s trying to be a big IPA with appropriate bitterness, but it’s missing something. Although it may not be the beer’s fault as I had a bit of a cold when I tried it. Pretty solid IPA. mrant (265), New York, USA Nov 30, 2008 Smells very sticky and sour, strong hops smell. Taste is similar to scent with a strong malt back. Very refreshing, but could be hoppier RasterMaster (30), , Oklahoma, USA Nov 29, 2008 Golden amber pour into off-white frothy head that mostly dissipates into light lacing that melts around the glass. Carbonated bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass into a thin swirling pool of white foam at the top. Heavy aroma of piney hoppiness and malty sweetness. Initial flavor of spiced malts and sweet citrus which is balanced by a lingering slightly bitter hoppy finish. trevor211 (155), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 28, 2008 Having become so accustomed to the strength of DIPAs, I was expecting to be underwhelmed by this effort from GD. I ended up very much enjoying it. Pours a light coppery amber, with a good head and great lacing. Aroma has piney hops and caramel malts, and the flavor follows suit, adding a slightly nutty note. Crisp, clean, but full-bodied. A lot of IPAs fail to pull through on their promises of a malty finish and aftertaste - this one does not. It might even be a little too malty. When I’m going for a sixer of something, I’d take this any day of the week.
