tgncc (247), Bellmore, New York, USA Jun 30, 2008 I was expecting the little brother of Great Divide’s Hercules IIPA (which I f%$#ing love!!!). This was not the case. Nice hoppy aroma. Aroma also has a herbal, earthy quality to it. Color is standard for an IPA, a reddish tinge to a pale yellow. Small but persistent white head. Flavor has both citrus and piney hops, not much malty sweetness (again a departure from Hercules). Slightly thick oily mouthfeel. The palate is entirely hops. This is a good beer and I recommend it. It’s also a little more affordable than the Hercules.
SkyinBrian (400), Collinsville, Illinois, USA Sep 6, 2008 well, I thought I was a hophead, but I found this to be a bit...unbalanced.
the hop character just seemed a bit harsh and there wasn’t enough malty goodness to back it up. yespr (6373), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 6, 2008 From tap at Ølbaren. Pours clear and orange with a light tan and creamy head. Dry and wet woody hops aroma. Lemonish initial flavour with a delicate hops base. Mild caramel malty flavour beneath. Mild woody and toward breadish dry malty. Light lemonish hoppy finish with a delicate bitterness into an almost fragile finish. plovmand (578), Helsinge, Denmark Sep 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with a medium white head. Very fruity and floral aroma with piney hoppy notes. Very bitter and citric flavour with peachy notes. The malt is present as well. It ends up very bitter which is a bit too much. Overall its great. topcup (5), kutztown, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Aug 30, 2008 12 oz bottle. intense hops. Piney. Maybe a touch to much bitterness. This is good but i’ve had better IPA’s. CaryTheDude (187), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Aug 29, 2008 Wow, I think Two Hearted ruined my IPA experience. Unfortunately this one completely pales in comparison. Nothing interesting about it. Just mellow with some hop character. A generic IPA. Bummer.
