17thfloor (721), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 4, 2008 Great looking orange amber pour with a frothy beige head. Strong piney, sweet malty, grapefruit/pineapple aroma. I think I like this one better than their Hercules. The malts are sweeter and help balance the hops better, way better balance. Like the double though, its still quite dry which is refreshing.
Grapefruit, woody, piney, and some the malts taste like sap...like drinking a tree. Great body, glassy and smooth fluffy carbonation, a little bit waxy. Better than their double and really opens up the more you drink.
DTM (390), Winters, California, USA Oct 2, 2008 Bottle from a trade with STFun. Poured a copper color with a huge head. The smell of hops ever present. Tasted of both pine and citrus hops. A little weak on the palate and unfortunaley doesn’t stand out from the many IPA’s available. WickerBrew (278), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 1, 2008 Happy to see this in 12oz bottles, and even happier to be paying a surprisingly low amount for it. This is just a solid IPA in pretty much all ways. Not too hoppy, sort of a thinnish taste, great smell, this is easy to drink. Could possibly enter the possibility list of cheap high abv regulars for me. lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 29, 2008 Copper, golden pour, low head, some lacing. Floral and fruity hops, grape. First impression is sweet and a flat lack of carbonation. Bitter typical IPA, no bite, nice example of a better than average IPA taalhiker (111), Dayton, Ohio, USA Sep 29, 2008 From bottle. Part of April Dayton Beertasting event.
Pours clear amber with robust white head. Aroma of pine and citrus hops. Very good beer considering the price point. Slightly short finish but would buy again. Pub (4102), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Sep 27, 2008 Bottled at The Rake, Borough, London. Clouded orange amber with white head. The first time we had been to this pub, owned by Utobeer I think, with a great foreign beer fridge. This is heavily hopped, pretty dry with a yeasty note. Pretty refreshing, but really not the best idea while on a pub crawl!
