Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Bottle. Amber rudy color, clear. Kinda muddled malt and raspberry aroma and flavors. The malts were a bit toasty, and the berry was present but not overwelming. Kinda average. My problem with this beer is that, for beer afficiandos, this beer is loose and the berries are very detracting. For people who like fruit beers, the fruits are not big, and not fruity enough. Leaves you with this middle-of-the-road fruit beer that probably won’t wow anyone.

Rated based on notes taken 17 Apr 2012 -- Drank from the bottle while in Pueblo at IFS. This was an interesting beer, kinda smelled like tea, the aroma of raspberry was much larger than the actual flavor. Overall I was kinda disappointed.

this one was pretty "eh" by Great Divide’s lofty standards. malt forward aroma and flavor, with the raspberry coming out a little more in the flavor than the aroma. spritzy feel fits the style. more of a summer quencher than a beer that will blow you away."

12 oz. bottle at home. Why I bought this I don’t know. Pours a clear deep red color with a pink off white head. The aroma and flavor have raspberry, pale wheat malts, a splash of some sweetness and light floral notes. Light body, watered down fruit with a drier finish.

12oz bottle 5/00 (Old Notes)-Pours a ruby red with a small head. Aroma of raspberries. Taste of mild raspberries. This light bodied brew has a big nose but not the punch to back it up. Still a tasty brew.

Bottled: 09AUG11 A: Pours a reddened amber ale with a falling off-white head that falls to a central cap with no support. A bit hazy with no lacing. S: Raspberry with a simple amber like backbone. More raspy when first opened, and this smell dies quickly. T: Tastes of woody, oxidized ale with a nice raspberry aromatic tone. Nothing special here. M: Light body with hi carb and a semi dry finish. O: Meh. Last one I purchase. Serving type: bottle 09-16-2011

Clear, medium brown ale, minimal aroma, low head. Very light beer, raspberry barely noticeable. A great summer afternoon beer.

Not overwhelmingly raspberry-y but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I prefer understated fruitiness. This is drier than you’d expect.

Dark ruby red with thin white head. Dark fruit aroma. Raspberry obvious. Good carbonation. Decent raspberry flavor. Finishes somewhat bitter, soapy. Bottled 10.3.12.
