COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Clear sparkling, medium amber red color with a huge, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate raspberry, sweet raspberry, strawberry. Flavor is moderate to heavy old berry sweet and moderate wood bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090830]

[At the brewery] A clear red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with slight fruity esters and notes of raspberries. The flavor is dominated by raspberries and very carbonated, so that it reminds me of a sodapop. The end is dry, but the body is thin.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a reddish brown with a slight haze and a small, off-white head. Marked, sweetish raspberry aroma. Rather light, fresh and dry body with the raspberries leaving a very pleasant impression. 250206

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy red with a cripsy light brown head. Very raspberry fruity aroma, smells like very sweet sodapop. Flavour has raspberry but quite dry. Ends dry as well but with a bit more fruit.

Bottled. Dark red colour, small white head. Strong raspberries and weak hoppy notes in aroma. Like watery raspeberry lemonade in flavour along with malty hints. Raspberryish aftertaste. Not a very good mix...

omhper (15964) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2005 Bottled. Hazy reddish brown. Raspberry aroma. Sweet with clean hard mouthfeel. Besides the raspberry flavour there is not really much to this beer. It is too sweet bo be drinkable, and has nothing ejnjoyable to offer flavourwise. Why does a respectable brewer like Great Divide bother to bottle this?

Red-amber color. Simple aroma, very light fruits. Nothing to tell about the taste; quite bitter. There’s no point here.
