Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Brownish red in color, aroma is very faintly fruity, when beer touches the lips the raspberry flavor profile completes itself. Subtle fruitiness (for a fruit beer) Base ale does a good job of not getting in the way. Much better than many fruitbeers I’ve had, but no where near Lambic class.

bottle. Golden with small head. Light bodied base with some light raspberry flavor. Nothing distinctive whatsoever.

Bottled: 09AUG11 A: Pours a reddened amber ale with a falling off-white head that falls to a central cap with no support. A bit hazy with no lacing. S: Raspberry with a simple amber like backbone. More raspy when first opened, and this smell dies quickly. T: Tastes of woody, oxidized ale with a nice raspberry aromatic tone. Nothing special here. M: Light body with hi carb and a semi dry finish. O: Meh. Last one I purchase. Serving type: bottle 09-16-2011

Clear, medium brown ale, minimal aroma, low head. Very light beer, raspberry barely noticeable. A great summer afternoon beer.

Not overwhelmingly raspberry-y but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I prefer understated fruitiness. This is drier than you’d expect.

Dark ruby red with thin white head. Dark fruit aroma. Raspberry obvious. Good carbonation. Decent raspberry flavor. Finishes somewhat bitter, soapy. Bottled 10.3.12.

Bottle from barley wine cph. Clear raspberry scent, but less in the taste than expected. But that is probably to it´s advantage a the maltstructure is pretty regular for a pale ale and not a lambic one. Really drinkable.

There is more aroma than flavor. Trying to get a a strong raspberry flavor we would be difficult. Not much of a finish but a good fruit beer overall.

Pours a reddish brown with no head. Aroma of malt, alcohol and raspberries. Taste is raspberries, kinda artificial. Astringent and alcohol. Not bad but not great ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ruby colored and clear, one finger slightly pink head and ok lacing. Aroma is raspberries, malts (biscuit, bready), a little toffy. Flavor is fruity, dryly so, with a crisp, clean raspberry flavor that compliments the maltiness but doesn’t overpower. Hop bitterness is minimal. Easy to drink, light, with a dry finish. It’s quite tasty, an easy drinker good for an outdoor afternoon.
