COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti’s hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Appearance: Extremely dark brown, some may say black. Thick, luxurious foamy head that lasts, chocolate brown in color. Aroma: Coffee, dark malts and glorious chocolate! Closer sniffs revealed subtle hints of that noble hop goodness, not overpowering or pungent at all. Taste: Chocolate and malts are predominant, aftertaste has some coffee/toffee tones and a good portion of hop bitterness but not out of balance at all. Palate: Silky smooth and almost chewy. Noticeable aftertaste of alcohol which puts me off a bit, but the strong coffee/chocolate tastes keep it from burning or feeling hot. Overall: On the whole a great tasting beer but the strong and lasting flavors combined with the high ABV keep it from being enjoyable on a regular basis. While slowing sipping my one glass kept me impressed throughout, about half way through I realized I wouldn’t care for another glass of this anytime soon... one was good but it’ll do for a while.

12oz bottle. Pitch black with a creamy brown head. Flavors are dark/milk chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, licorice, caramel, ashes, alcohol and resinous hops with herbal and fruity notes. Full body, soft carbonation, oily texture.

Bottle at home. Poured a clear dark brown with red tinge when seen in the light. No head to speak of, but it is dark tan. Smells of coffee and roast. Tastes like coffee with fair sweetness and bitterness. Low on bubbles. Calming and satisfying.

330ml bottle poured in a snifter glass. A: Pours a opaque black oil color forming a big creamy tan head with reasonable retention and many many lacings left S: Smell is a perfume of roasted malts. Brown sugar, dark chocolate, coffee and earthy hops. Alcohol in the very end T: Follows the nose. Delicious roasted taste mixed with refreshing herby and grassy hops. Again, brown sugar, roasted malts (yeah a lot! :)). Dark chocolate and coffee to complete. In overall a dry beer with a bit sweet upfront. Aftertaste is really roasted and bitter M: Heavy and deliciously creamy. Very biscuity. Medium carbonation. Absolutely delicious bitter aftertaste O: Excellent imperial stout. Velvety smooth like a marshmallow going down a water slide (?!). Uncharacteristicly hoppy at first followed by a roast coffee finish. This beer loves up to its legendary status. Rated by BrewTom

Julie does not like the 2013 version. It is too smokey. V. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thick dark black with very little brown head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavor has a good bit of coffee bitterness. Warms the gut a little.

Although I prefer more chocolatey/milky stouts to coffee ones, this is an ideal imperial stout nonetheless! Perfectly viscous, thick, oily liquid that is jet black with a great thick brown foamy head. Taste is extremely rich and creamy. Coffee, toffee, roasted caramel throughout. Sweet. Excellent brew!

God øl fin mørkk farge, lukter friskt og godt. Skummet holder seg lenge på topp. Klarte ikke helt å beskrive smaken, men veldig god.

Black with brown head. Aroma is hops and chocolate. Flavor american hops, chocolate, coffee and rostes malts. Full body with creamy texture. Slight bitter finish. A little bit lower IBU and this one would be excellent.
