Great Divideís Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yetiís hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Rating #2182 - 2015.11.17 - Bottle from BevMo. Black as a Himalayan sunset with a weak tan head that caps nicely. Aroma is heavy roast malt and dark roast coffee, molasses. Taste is heavy on roast malt and coffee flavours, pronounced sweetness, well bittered. One for the tabloids.

Bottle. Rich aroma full of malt, stone fruit, and dark roast coffee. Flavor is rich, velvety, and has distinct notes of prunes. Pours a pitch black with a great espresso-brown fluffy head. Palate is one of creamy, long, fullness.

* Pitch black colour with a modest but lasting espresso coloured head. * Nose: Dark roasted coffee beans, strong French coffee, dark cocoa, liquid dark chocolate, cocoa beans, something savoury and "meaty" like sweet and spicy chili can carne. * Taste & palate: Creamy and soft arrival almost velvety. Then the coffee and dark chocolates notes take over, although still in a very creamy way. The mid taste is all velvety, rounded chocolate beans and cocoa beans. Carbonation? Sure. Plenty. Somewhere. Itís just that itís so integrated with the richness and fullness of body that itís easy to overlook. Which tells me that this beer is very well made. The finish is long, with round coffee and very dark chocolate notes and only at the end of the aftertaste sits a slightly burnt bitterness with perhaps the slightest hint of pine. Perhaps. This supposedly holds 75 IBU but there is obviously so much rich malt stuffed into this beer that the hops has almost drowned. * This is a very rich, soft, velvety and full bodied beer without being sweet in any way. Itís very good and the nose and the appearance are both close to perfection!

Bottle at home, aquired in a trade, long time ago. Chocolate, pretty bitter which adds to the full body, caramel and some toast. Pretty nice.

Aroma includes caramel and lots of roasted malt. Has a nice bitter hop finish that elevates the beer.

A bottle from Alko. Pours pitch black with brown 1-finger thick head. Sweet molasses, surypy nose with some toffee, burnt sugar, caramel and coffee notes. Thick and bit oily mouthfeel is balanced with quite nice carbonation. Initial sweet taste of dark maltiness, coffee, chocolate, caramel and suryp turn into bitter and long finish.

Bottle. Pours jet black with a solid dark tan head, great lacing. Gorgeous. Deep roasted malt and dark chocolate aroma, coffee. Full decadent flavour, not complex but rich and very bitter tail. Not a full-on body for the style, easy to sip, a little chocolate sweetness, drawn out bitterness, warming booze note. Great stuff.
