COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti’s hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Great and close to the oak aged version. Nice malty, roasted aroma with some alcohol and sweetness. Cool black color with minimal head retention. Could not see through it. Same deep roasted flavors as would be expected, coffee essence. Smooth palate, almost oily. This is so good.

One of my favorite smelling beers to date! Bourbon, dark chocolate, vanilla, wood, prune, Bold coffee. Pours like oil or molasses with a thick 2.5 finger, caramel head. Dry dark Chocolate on first sip with hints of Bourbon and burnt caramel. Dry, almost creamy finish. Booziness comes out as it warms. Incredible flavor depth and profiles. One could almost find any flavor of there in this beer.

Bottle at Whole Foods, Sarasota, FL. Black & beautiful. Strong & rich Roast flavor, with bitter chocolate and smoke. Cloves? Not my favorite, as the alcohol didn’t hide the coffee very well...but overall not bad.

Dark black like oil. Side by side with oak aged yeti. Roasty. Toffee. Super good stout.

The Yeti Imperial is a delightfully balanced medium to heavy bodied stout with a robust introduction of mildly sweet toffee flavor and a pleasant smooth smoky finish

Aug ’14. A 0.355 l bottle from Systembolaget, Upplands Väsby. In the absence of local imperial stouts I finally went for this classic. It was cheap, too. Poured pitch black body with small brown head atop. First sniff revealed coffee, licorice, some caramel, even lemon. Complex roasted aroma along with secondary notes like cinnamon, overcooked fruits and some volatile notes with it. Flavor was lightly bitter, both from spicy herbal hops and roasted coffee-like malt. Pleasant maltiness generally, wide palette of flavors here, ranging from caramel to fruits and even vanilla. Full bodied with long coffee dominated finish, that showed some herbal and citrus character, too. Very good imperial stout, did not exactly blow me away, but it’s definitely a true classic.

16.1.2015. Keg. Thick black beer with brown head. Aroma has plenty of roasted malts, and coffee and cacao. Palate is very smooth and oily. Taste has velvety roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and plenty of hops. Heavy but not too much, highly enjoyable.

Pitch black in color w/ dark tan head 3 fingers in depth. Aroma is dark roasted malts, coffee and cocoa nibs. Taste follows the aroma with a big hop presence in the back end. Silky smooth mouthfeel.

Pours an opaque black with a large mocha head that lingers around for a while. Aroma is laden with chocolate, coffee with a slight hint of caramel. Taste is bitter coffee and cocoa initially followed by a slight piney and hop bitter finish. Full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel.
