COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti’s hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bomber bottle with some friends. Dark black pour with thick and creamy brown head. Medium in size with nice lacing. Aromas and taste of dark chocolate, bitter hops, grain, vanilla, wood, licorice. Sticky mouthfeel with light to medium carbonation. Warming brew for the body. Really nice and hoppy for a stout which I love.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks zvikar. Black and opaque. Umami aroma, salty and inky. Soy sauce, mild bitterness in the mouth. Smooth, full-bodied, long, dry finish.

22 oz bottled on 11/8/2012 - It’s oily, deep and dark, with dark tan foam, about an inch and a half. Aroma is slightly of soy, molasses, chocolate, slight booze. It’s sweet, chocolatey, tastes of dark coffee, mildly boozy, with a slightly powdery bittersweet finish. I took a gamble buying a two year old bottle, wasn’t sure how any temp fluctuation could effect it. It’s more creamy than slick, with silky carbonation. The store’s got about a half dozen left on the shelf :)

Yeti aged 3 years! Great aroma of chocolate and malt. So smooth and a little hop kick on the first taste. Really, really great stout, I recommend aging it, for sure!

Pours black like oil with the same viscosity, and khaki colored head. Chocolate, roasted malt, a little coffee, and some booze on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with roasted malt and raw cocoa.

Bottle to stout glass. This pours completely black with a one finger brown head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, and hops. The taste is chocolate, coffee, malt, roast, some toffee, and a decent amount of hops. The finish is thick and oily. Such a good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£6.60):
Another week, another excellent American brewed imperial stout. This one is like Larry Holmes trying to follow Muhammed Ali, while this one is very good in its own right it has a ridiculously hard act to follow in the shape of last weeks Bourbon County Stout. Despite this one not being quite in the same league as the bottle of Bourbon County that I tried last week this one is still an excellent beer & one that I’d consider picking up again were it a little more reasonably priced. The taste was definitely a good one, perhaps a little heavy on the alcohol with this one surprisingly seeming stronger than the 15% Bourbon County. I enjoyed this one & I’m anxious to get my hands on a bottle of the Oak Aged version at some point to see how it compares to this one

(355ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours completely pitch black with a small medium brown head that fades quickly leaving lace. Aroma has semisweet dark chocolate, a little milk chocolate, black coffee, dark malts with fairly strong roast, black licorice, a little bit of orange oil, and hints of pine hops, pretty strong nose. Palate is moderately sweet at first, particularly dark chocolate/cocoa loaded. There is some medium-roast type black coffee as well, and a nice structure of burnt sugar dark malt, but it’s not an overpowering malt bomb. Some orange peel as well. As the sip progresses, roastiness builds and dries the beer, some roast cacao bean character in there, touch of the licorice. Quite roasty by the end, pine hops, orange peel still lingers, nearly dry with lingering malt flavour but not sweetness. Alcohol completely hidden. Fairly full, oily body with light to moderate carb. Very nicely balanced beer that is rich and chocolately but not terribly sweet, with a real drying quality from roast and hops that gives it a nicely American-style character on the finish. Makes it super drinkable white not being a poor "sipper" by any means either, if perhaps lacking the ultimate complexity of some imperials with additions or barrel ageing.

Lagerboy (1322) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
355 ml bottle. An inky black beast indeed, fading mocha foam. Darkest roast aroma, espresso, dark chocolate, black licorice. Taste is harsh and bitter, charred dark roasted malt, coffee bean, bakers chocolate, licorice, pine citrus hop, subdued caramel and toffee, could use more sweetness. Softer carbonation, full bodied, well hopped. Full pull sensory assault leading to a nasty bitter end. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)
